Hello. My LAN is working very slow. . . I mean if I drag a file to other comouter's folder (e. g. : \\comp2\c\temp) it takes around 30 seconds until it starts copying my file to that network location.

hi, i made a bootdisk with cd-rom support but when i restart my computer with that disk in the drive it tells me ntldr is missing. Shouldn't it just boot without caring about ntldr????? That bootdisk contains all necessary files to boot into msdos, why is it looking for ntldr?.

Problem with IE in RC1

Hi everyone. Installed RC1 (build 2505). No problems except I came to it today and noticed a small but annoying problem with internet explorer. When you type a friendly url (eg ) into the address bar and hit enter (or press Go) nothing happens.

in 2530. 0001 when i click on a link the text size is reset to medium(i like it on larger),anybody else have this problem,or even beter knows of a solution?.

Drive image showing wrong free space

Sometimes drive image show a wrong free space on my harddisk. In windows2000 i can see i got 7GB free on my HD, but drive image (rebooted in dos and everything) tells me there is only 3 GB free. . . So i can't make an image.

Holding the ICON settings in XP folders

I think im missing the plot somewhere here. I cant seem to get the folders to all hold their ICON settings. When i go back to a folder after a reboot theyre all resett to TILES. Any pointers appreciated.

Kernel Memory total is higher when booted up after months of

When I boot up windows and I check my memory usages in Task Manager. My Kernel Memory is higher after a few month of use. When I installed win2k the total kernel memory after booting up is around 36000k or 38000k.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am EXTREMELY happy with Windows 2000 SP2 and IE 6, plus the new Outlook version that comes with IE 6. I see no reason to upgrade to XP now or even in the distant future.

Frontpage extensions on Win2k server SP2

I need to install Frontpage 2000 Server Extensions on my Win2k Server. However, when downloading the latest copy off the Microsoft website, it extracts its files, and ends with an error saying I can't install it on the machine since it was designed for SP1.

Compatability Tools - A basic instruction manual!

Anybody who has used WinXP and more importantly the included 'compatibility tools' will know how useful they can be. They are going to be so very useful once WinXP hits the shelves and the mass public get their hands on it.

I am sharing a quicken file on a novell network drive. A windows 98 pc can open it fine, but windows 2000 can't open file??? I can copy it to the win 2000 hardrive and open it. Any help? Please!.
