I posted this message over at as well. I am currently running WinXP RC3. At home I am behind a Linksys router which I have forwarded port 9110 out to my computers ip address. My problem is: I am trying to run Gamevoice Share 1.

Anyone notice when you right click a floppy in RC2 ;in the format command you have the option to create a MSDOS Startup disk? Has anyone tried to flash a bios with this disk?

Unattended.doc for Windows XP

Hi Guys, I have not yet noticed an Unattended. doc file for Windows XP. If anyone of you have, please let me know. Cause it is very helpful for a custom install. You can select what components you want to install and leave the rest out.

Go here and download IE5SETUP. EXE Now make a batch file with these lines in it and save it: ie5setup /c:ie5wzd. exe /d /s:#E Run this batch file in the same directory as IE5Setup. exe.

I'm just curious, has anyone tried boot-time defragmenting with Diskeeper 6(SE)? I tried it once, and shortly thereafter I had all kinds of horrible drive errors. My system seems to have recovered, but I'll not be so quick to try it again.

A friend recently installed a 60GB hard drive and partitioned it into (3) 20GB virtual drives. He tried to backup 13 GB of data using MS Backup on Win 2K. He errored at a little over 4 GB telling him the drive was full.

Any way to make ghost see nfts partitions to store the image

I'm using ghost 7. 0. I have a 30GB and a 8 GB harddisk. I use the 8 gig to save my image files on. For now it is formatted in fat32. My question is if it is possible to make ghost see ntfs partitions as i would like to format the 8 gig drive ijn ntfs.

No Master Boot Record?

Just installed win2k on a friends PC with SP2 and Norton Antivirus 2001. When I run a norton antivirus scan it reads scanned master boot records 0. The system takes 3 min to boot and runs slower than the same system I have.

Loading XP on Raided Board

Just give up loading XP on my KT7a. I have had 12 attempts and formatted in between ect. Making sure the HPT370 Drivers were taken on pressing F6. Every time the OS got to the bit where you put in local settings like keyboard and currencey the thing kept locking.

x-setup ata66 seting???

I noticed there is a setting in x-setup to enable ata66 in win2k because it is not enabled as default. Does this do anything?? I use a highpoint 366 ata 66 controller with a maxtor ata100 drive. How about ata100 drivers?? Is ata100 not enabled either when using a ata100 controller, or does sp2 fix al that?.

I have 2 windows 2000 Pro. computers and i was wondering how can i shut down one of the computers remotly from the other win2k comp? Is there a way to do it with using the MMC or do you have to run special software?.

Why doesnt outlook.exe go away?

So whenever I exit Outlook it sometimes isnt killed, and sits in the task manager soaking up a nice fat 10 megs of ram until I kill it. This screws up other things in my system like my modem ussually wont dial and outlook simply wont load.

Could you tell me how to stop certain applications running at startup please. I have SETI and it runs as soon as i boot and want to stop it. . . Also that MS office start up too. . in win98 i use msconfig for this but dont know how to do it in win2K.
