Game over, MS / XP wins!

SnapperOne
From the recent posts on XP, it appears MS has bought everybody off with game compatibility, stability, etc. . . . as a means of pushing product activation down everyone's throat. If everyone is prepared to trade off control of their computer so they can play some lousy game,.

reversing_drive
I know, i ask this question for everything:o, but hey. . . I'm curious, and if it's possible i might well use it and so will others. Firstly i haven't seen the Office 2000 Service Pack 2 for separate Download anywhere, though i'm sure it is, so lets skip that problem.

More IE5.5 troubles

jazzcat
I am not sure if IE5 did this before installing SP2 or what, but whenever I click on a link that is supposed to open a new browser window (such as a link in hotmail), nothing happens. Actually, if I right click on any link and say open link in new window, the same lack of action occurs.

Firewall (ICF) Question

iks
Hello. Somewhere under How Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) works in some Helpfile I read that: All inbound traffic from the Internet is compared against the entries in the table. So there IS a table with definitions of what can go and what can't go through the firewall.

Passwords

illusionist
Can some one answer this question? When you log into a site, ie: yahoosports and you sign up for a user name and password, windows comes up with a pop up box asking you if you would like windows to remember the password and in my case I tend to say yes.

XP Desktop Wallpapers Please

reversing_drive
I was wondering if people using XP could post any cool wallpapers used in XPs desktop themes. I have collected the best ones from WinMe & Win2K and would love any cool ones used in XP. The only one i have seen in screenshots of XP is the Red Sand one with the Moon in the background.

AOL Instant Messenger chat logging software?

Down8
I like to save some of my AIM conversations , and I like that ICQ keeps it's own 'history' of recent conversations. I was wondering if there is any software that can plug into AIM and do this for me? It's not super hard to save the conversations on my own, but there is the random accidental-window-closure, or syste ...

Im still getting used to the Win2k environment but I never ventured into the serving aspects of the OS yet. When I used Win98 I used to run ServU as a FTP host. Now that Im in a pure Win2K environment I need a new way to run an FTP service.
