Busted Progs in "Add and Remove Programs"

spacey
You know when you install a program and then it sucks and you want to uninstall it but for some reason it says in your Add and Remove programs list even after you supposedly delete it? Where would I go about and look for the place in the registry or wherever that those programs are listed so I can delete it myself ...

Hi, Last night i installed IE6 final (6. 0. 2600. 000) on top of IE55/sp2. Almost everything looks running ok except a weird problem i never met before. When i try to download directly from an HTTP or FTP site using IE6, i get a download window asking to OPEN or SAVE this kind of file.

darkthrone
Hello I can play cds, etc. But, say I go to and click on a song to play now, windows media player 7. 1 just hangs. This is under Windows 2000 Server with sp2 I go online as just a user account. I know that it would work as power user or admin, but I just want it to work as a user account.

Stoping a DLL from running

Vampyr
I'm running a Point Of Sale system that loads a DLL program into memory. In order to perform system updates the DLL has to be unloaded. The only way to achieve this is by rebooting the machine. Is there a command line i can use to manually stop and unload the dll? I'm using win2k server.

win2k competing with XP?

bug_666
i heard that some ppl prefer to wait for a service pack or two before even considering a switch. since 2k has 2 SPs and XP has none, wouldn't win2k be a preferable choice (i wonder if that's why MS is threatening to jack up the prices for those who are too slow to upgrade the second it comes out)?.
