Very odd problem.

Ok, i was helping my mate build a new system. We Installed WinXP (like i've done on many systems before). After the installation we tried to reboot. When rebooting we got an error saying cannot find ntldr.

Stop ERROR IRQL_NOT_EQUAL........

When I lauch programs once in awhile I get a stop ERROR and then a memory dump I am running XP 2600 and it only does it if I havent run the APP for alittle period of time, but after the dump and restart, I can run the program just fine? Any thoughts

Getting me annoyed

Ok! guyz every version of windows and internet explorer does this. Everytime i click on internet explorer or a i do open in new window IE comes up not maximized and i have to maximize it. . . ARRRGGGHHH! Anyway of getting it to automatically maximize? Thanx very much, - 1.

Sound Issues

When playing mp3s in Winamp, when there is the smallest bit of disk activity, the playback stutters, not too much but it is noticable. It did not do this with ME but when I upgraded to XP, the problem was noticed.

Looking at Task manager there is a column labeled page faults. What are they Where do they come from (I've got a lot of them). Do I want to get rid of them?,,,if so, how? TIA, Terry.

Burned disc isn't recognized for a while

yo guys, I have a LiteOn 16101b 16/10/40 CDRW drive on my WinXP Pro box. Whenever I burn something, the disc isn't recognized on any of my drives (I have another DVD Drive). however, it works on any other computer.

Win2000 Server - Backup probs.

Hi people. . . I have problems with NT Backup. . . I have 2 servers and the problems seems similar on both computers. One server has to backup some directories in a file and the second server has to backup the first backup (via network) and other directories on the storage tape (a Sony Dat).

A Not So Important Problem

I never thought i was this helpless. I'm trying to set my screen saver to a password (using the win2k logon screen saver). but when i check the password protected box, apply it (juts in case), then preview the screen saver.

Win2k unprovoked program exit

Sometimes Win2k just shuts down my CADKEY cad program. No BSOD, no warning, no error message, it just closes the program and puts me back on the desktop (in less than 1 second). Other CADKEY users have reported this same problem in Win2k.

New ICQ 2001b adds an annoying sentence in every SMS I send

In the older versions of program that didn't happened. Why is that? It adds this sentence (in every SMS): To reply via ICQ click reply, type text, then send! - regardless that I have unchecked in PREFERENCES Add signature in outgoing SMS messages (when I did that in older versions everything was ok) - please help m ...

Win 2K won't install, help!!

Umm err it's not very often I put in a request for help anywhere but this problm really has me beat. I decided it was high time I installed Win2K on my machine again (trying to move away from 9x) but every time I try all I get is a stop message saying Can't_Read_Boot_Device.

Outlook 2000 question

I set up a rule in Outlook 2000 to permanetly delete a message that meets certain criteria. Only thing is, when it deletes it, it still leaves the little envelope in my task bar saying I have a new message.

Win xp calling home

Ok here is my problem, win xp connects to the internet on its own some times. I've disabled remote access and auto up, I dont have a virus either(just did scan with norton 2002 with all current updates and no viruses) I have it on a dialup connection that connects at 28.

XP with Audigy-> startup sound

Hi there, I have a anoying issue. I disabled the startup sound so I won`t have to listen to the anoying tune at startup but still I get one. I guess that this may be caused by the Audigy software but I have no idea where/how to disable it.
