Who Is actually having the same slow startup problems Im having? I think I fixed it by taking out the two problems that SBLIVE! puts in. Once i disabled them my live drive didnt work though ;( Also DIABLO 2 is still choppy ;(.

what is the equivalent of system configuration (where u can disable some start-up programs) in win98 in start>programs>accessories>system tools>system information>tool bar>system configuration utility, for win2000 - i want to disable some startup programs without going into the registry

System shock 2, EAX and Liveware 3

Ok I just installed Liveware 3 for win2k, and installed system shock2 ad turned EAX on, I notice the difference in the sound but when i play all sounds and music are like muted. they are so low that I have to turn my speakers up very higher just to play.

Im just wondering how the OS runs. Is it quicker than win98? Is it more or less stable than Win2k? I know its just in beta but I just want to here some testimonials. Does most software run on it now? ***TRUST YOUR TECHNOLUST***.

Need Event viewer errors explanation !!

I use win 2k pro and i get error messages logged in th evenr viewer. . they always repeat everyday and i would like to know what they mean. 1) Event Type: Error Event Source: perfctrs Event Category: None Event ID: 3101 Date: 8/13/2000 Time: 22:35:36 Description: Unable to read IO control information from NBT device.

Win2K won't save my settings!!!

Win2K Pro won't save any settings such as resolution, driver changes, or any options I change. I've installed all the updates and that doesn't help either. What could be the problem?.

1. Copy the Windows 2000 CD to your HD. 4. Extract Sp1network. exe to a subdirectory. 5. Go to the Update directory in the extracted SP1 directory. 6. Make a batch file called update. bat and place these lines into it: update.

CDR Burning ...

Hello. . Prior to SP1. . I was able to burn cd's no problem. . now I cannot get anything to burn. . I have tried all my burning software (cd creator deluxe, nero, disc juggler) and they all start to burn then just hang on 5 or 6%.

Need help to reset some defaults without re-install

I have a month old install of win2k. Couple of things got fubar and I could use some advice on how to reset them. 1. When opening windows explorer, it used to show all my drive letters in my computer first and then show my documents as an unopened folder.

WIN2K NOT SORTING IN EXPLORER

I have windows advanced server SP1 installed on an AMD athlon 800 and it does not sort files by TYPE , NAME , DATE or anything in any view in explorer windows and it is making me crazy as i have never seen this problem before (it existed before the Service pack update).

Cubase, SMP, Sblive, Win2000?

Is there anyone out there that is running cubase under win2000 with smp and a soundblaster live? Just like all sorts of other programs, cubase produces that evil popping or wierd loud noise that people seem to be getting with win2k + sblive.

CDRWIN = shortcut to rebooting

Tried to convert the ME. bin file to an. iso file using CDRWIN and whe I launch the exe. it reboots my system. . . . . kewl. Glad I didnt pay for that shortcut. Any one else have a similar problem, and if so how did you resolve it.
