Outlook XP warning messages

I just installed office 10 beta 2 and set outlook as my defualt mail browser. After i set the accounts up, i started recieving a message everytime i tried to read a file. . . it says something along the lines that there was another program trying to access my mail, and if its a virus, you should pick no.

Do u know how i can change it? i got this software pack and now i have this damn annoying thing there instead of the usual globe. How can i get rid of it without uninstalling the package. Also, the name of the explorer window changed from Microsoft Internet Explorer to Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by.

do I have too many applications on my computer ??

I'm wondering if I may now have too many applications for my computer. It seems applicatations are taking longer to load than previously (i. e as I keep adding more software). BTW, I only install applications from vendors (in other words I don't ever install betas, or download games or install freebies).

ECDC 5 vs. ECDC 4.03a ?

Wondering about the differences/improvements between ECDC 5 Platinum & ECDC Deluxe 4. 03a, if any. Does ECDC 5 include DCD 5 ? Any W2k Pro installation issues/problems that one should be aware of ? Does the Recorder Support Database add more then that of ECDC 4.

Here at work they decided to install SMS 2. 0 (SP1). On all our Win98 machines, when our logon scripts run, if not now, it WILL happen eventually - the systems lock up. When you hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, the same program is not responding - MPREXE.

I have this problem I install wingate 4. 2 in the server and in the client, it runs all ok, the client enters the internet perfectly, but, when i reboot the server, wingate seems to desconfigure, and the client can't enter the interne no more, and the only solution is to unistall and reinstall wingate in the server ...

why is my DOS prompt broken?

My question is: how do I get the DOS prompt in win2k working like it does in win9x? I know wink2k's DOS prompt isn't like win9x, but I should still not be having the problems I am having. For instance, I cannot change to directories the way they are listed.

hmmm. . . its simple, i got winamp running and my internet stops working right, i cant connect to servers, cant download things. . . then i close winamp and everything runs fine again. i tried reinsalling winamp and still no work.

I've tried to burn a bootable CD following the instructions from but after burning it, and trying to boot from the CD, the bootmanager reports: NTLDR missing Is there a way to make a bootable CD from a Windows 2000 upgrade CD files?

When I restart W2K windows says DEVLDR. exe is not responding, and I have to end task, and sometimes my box shuts down and sometimes it doesnt, when it does it takes about 3 minutes. TIA Ned.

svchost.exe problem

Occasionally when I boot up I get an svchost. exe error which terminates it. I check the event viewer and the error also kills Telephony, Network Connections, COM+ and various other services. I think I have linked the error to running Direct3D applications but I am not sure what to do about it.

I find that Flight Simulator 2000 is SOOOoooo unreliable in Windows 2000. Has anyone else suffered the same and if so what the fix may be ??.

I screwed up and clicked on do not open upon startup when I was closing everything down for some benchmarking on my vidcard I just OCed. . . Rebooted, and it was gone. . . and I use that instead of the taskbar's tray.

I'm stumped. I am trying to share a folder from my win2k laptop with other pc (win98) at work. In win98, i can see the 2k box and when i click on it, it would ask for a password. . however i didn't specifiy one and leaving it blank won't let me access it.

My status bar seems to have disapeared in internet explorer and windows explorer. By status bar i mean the part at the bottom of the window that tells you what link you are hovering over and what is getting downloaded and whatnot.
