Odd NT4 problem

I was installing NT4 on a old workstation I had around, its a p2 300, 64 megs of memory and standard hardware. Anyway after I install nt4 fresh and get everything set up a problem happens, whenever I try to run an installshield installation or some MS ones it fails without reason or fault log.

Compatibility updates and service pack 2

Does service pack 2 automatically turns on compatibility mode? Cuz before service pack 2 i had to manually tell the shortcut to run in windows 98 compatibility mode to make certain games work. Since i did a format and installed service pack 2 they don't seem to need compatibility mode anymore.

ATI's dvd player 4.1 not working under XP

Ok I installed XP rc1 to see what its like, and I think its cool to look at. Now my problem is when I drop a dvd in the drive and ati pops up it gives me the errors of Playback has failed due to one of the following problems: 1)Audio device is in use or not installed.

Nero 5.5 fix

Hi, I have a inf file that apparently fixes the hibernation problem with all versions of the above software. If you'd like to leave your e-mail address then I can supply you with it. I'm not exactly sure what I should do to run, I just right-clicked it clicked on install and hoped it worked.

Adaptec 4.02 EZCD Creator Problems

Free mail server for Win2K Server?

I've been having problems sending through my ISP, so I'm looking for something to send mail through my own server. I have SMTP installed, but I don't have Exchange or anything, and I don't feel like spending any moeny on this, as it'd be less troubl to just send from the web.

Sygate 4.0

I installed Sygate 4. 0 in XP to get DHCP and internet sharing up and running on my home network but it doesnt work. I used the same configuration as in my Win2k installation. Sygate starts and seems to work fine but the clients dont recieve ip adresses and DNS information.

Bit of a weird one.....

On one of my hard drives, I have this Document and Settings directory, which is not used. However, I am unable to delete it. Its not used for anything, as it was from a previous XP installation. I can't delete it in Win2k or in WinXP.

recycle bin icon broken

My recycle bin icon dosen't change when the bin has something in it. Its always showing the empty icon even if there are files in it. I have checked the icon settings for the recycle bin and they are correct with different icons for both states.

Start>Programs problem

Somehow I managed to get my start>programs menu to shoe only the shortcuts in my C:\Docs & Settings\Username folder. I also want all the shortcuts that are in the C:\. . . . . \All Users folder to show here (just like it does in Win2000).

AIM memory Leak

Anyone else gets this? AIM 4. 7 I still think doesn't work in XP RC1, so I use AIM 4. 3, and I've had this leak forever. Basically, after every IM, about 300K more RAM is used. It never goes down, and I'll find that process using 200 megs in no time.

Got quicktime 5 working in IE6?

The only program that no longer works after upgrading to winXP RC1 is Quicktime 5 in IE6 (Apple toss). It works fine on it's own but just doesn't embedded movies in web pages. Has anyone managed to get round this?.

Via 4 n 1 drivers and Nero 5. 5 - One or the other??? Well I have run Win98SE and Win2k previously without a hitch in terms of system stability UNTIL NOW! Friend came over the other day and says how about a LAN party? Fine I say, but I have Win2k loaded and you have Win98SE.
