Intel this week boosted its Celeron processor to 1.2GHz.

Intel unveils mega-pixel digital camera
The first device is the Intel's 1.3 Megapixel Pocket Digital PC Camera, which has both 16MB on-board storage and a Smart Media expansion slot, for taking up to 256 pictures (1024x768 resolution). The camera also doubles as a digital video camera, for recording .AVI movies at 352x288 (CIF) resolution in untethered mode. When connected to a PC, the camera can feed video at 640x480 resolution on its 3-m USB cable.

Software maker Novell on Monday sued Microsoft for alleged false advertising and demanded that its competitor publicly renounce the statements.

In the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City, Novell accuses Microsoft of false and misleading statements about Novell's software in a direct-mail advertising campaign targeted at Novell's customers last month.

Microsoft and online film service CinemaNow on Monday plan to announce technology aimed at simplifying the creation of Web-based video-on-demand networks.

Marina Del Rey, Calif.-based CinemaNow said the application, dubbed PatchBay, can be licensed to distributors who want the necessary ingredients to manage a Web-based video-on-demand service, including content distribution, digital rights protection, targeted advertising, as well as pay-per-view and subscription services.
