Microsoft on Thursday confirmed that it is preparing the unexpected Office beta release for debut in June. A company representative said the release is intended to give customers a chance to try out changes made to the software as a result of testing. The release will not be a completely new test version. Instead, Microsoft said it will issue a "refresh" to the existing second beta test release.

Microsoft sends out more invites for its "PC Satisfaction Trial" to potential testers. Microsoft seems to be seeking more recruits again for its mysterious "PC Satisfaction Trial."

This week, ActiveWin.com and other Windows enthusiast sites posted copies of beta invitations from Microsoft for the trial.

According to the latest in vitations, once Microsoft selects the beta pool, the trial is slated to last three to four months.

Microsoft isn't wasting any time in assimilating the spoils from its February Connectix acquisition.

Microsoft is expected to commence tomorrow, April 15, its customer preview program for what it's calling the Microsoft Virtual Server (MVS).

The preview release will be a Microsoft-branded version of Connectix's Virtual Server, which has been in beta test with about 100 customers since November.
