AMERICA ONLINE (AOL) Wednesday released a beta version of AOL 8.0. The new version includes improved search tools, better spam filtering, and new features for instant messaging.

AOL 8.0 comes about two weeks after Microsoft detailed the forthcoming MSN 8.0, and said it will begin charging for the software.
