AirSnap Review

Protecting the AirPods case from scratching can be problematic. Twelve South thinks that they have a solution with the AirSnap leather pouch. AirSnap from Twelve South is the latest accessory aimed at protecting and traveling with AirPods, Apple's diminutive wireless earbuds. It is a leather sleeve that securely holds the AirPods case that can easily attach to any backpack or bag while on-the-go.

It is a stiff leather, which seems very similar to the leather used on the Relaxed Leather line of cases, though perhaps a tad thicker. Without the AirPods, AirSnap still holds its shape.

ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac Motherboard Review

AMD has refreshed chipset line recently so also the motherboard manufacturers added a couple of new models to the list. ASRock added to its motherboard line two ITX size motherboards from the Fatal1ty gaming series. The first is X470 Gaming-ITX/ac and the second one is presented in this review B450 Gaming-ITX/ac. Except for the used chipset, there are a couple of small differences between these motherboards, even though they share the same PCB.

Cooler Master Masterbox MB520 Mid-Tower Chassis Review

The budget chassis market is booming. With more people than ever getting into PC gaming, or looking to build their first system, lots of people need chassis. Sure, we’d all love to spend a few hundred on the flagship chassis’ that are out there. However, when we look at our wallets, reality catches up fast. At just under £60 the new Cooler Master Masterbox MB520 isn’t going to set the world on fire. However, that’s a fair price and we’re hoping to see a nice return on investment for those on a tighter budget.

With a windowed side panel, albeit not tempered glass, and a unique front panel design, the MB520 is trying to stand out from the crowd. It’s got the room for a decent amount of hardware too. So, with all that in mind, let’s jump in for a closer look.

We'll test the game on the PC platform relative towards graphics card performance with the latest AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers. Multiple graphics cards are being tested and benchmarked. F1 2018 is a racing video game developed and published by Codemasters. The game is based on the 2018 Formula One season and includes all of the twenty circuits, twenty drivers and ten teams competing in the season. The game features an expanded team management mode, which offers players more control over research and development of car parts. Engine components and gearboxes are subject to wear and will ultimately fail, with players receiving grid penalties for exceeding their quota of components. The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body of international motorsport, will support F1 2017 as a platform for eSports, following similar moves by Formula E and the World Rally Championship. A variety of race formats are available to players after the sport's commercial holders expressed an interest in using gaming to trial potential race formats. The game features historic Formula One cars—which were last included in F1 2013—drawn from 1988 to 2010.

Intel Core i7-9700K overclocked to 5.5 GHz

Intel's Core 9000 series are just around the corner. Intel Core i7-9700K @ 5.5 GHz In China, finding an engineering sample of new CPU seems like a very easy thing to do. Multiple retailers are not listing the new series with availability planned for September. We cannot confirm that this is indeed the launch of new series, because as far as we know, the NDA is still set to early October. The latest leak from CPU.ZOL shows two screenshots from Core i7-9700K benchmarking session. The CPU, which was water-cooled, was tested with ASRock's Z370 Professional Gaming i7 motherboard.

Swiftech H240 X3 All in One Cooler Review

As reviewers, we tend to swap out hardware on a very regular basis. Because of this, as test bench is a must for any serious reviewer. Not too long after setting up my test bench, I decided to move my main system to a test bench as well. However, the enthusiast in me demanded it be water-cooled. So, I ended up with the Praxis wet-bench due to its ability to take a 360 mm radiator. While searching for the hardware to do a proper custom loop, I came across the H320 X2 Prestige from Swiftech, and fell in love. It was a 360 mm All in One cooler with an Apogee XL2 block. It was the first cooler that allowed me to break 5.0 GHz on my 7700k. Since then, all my PCs have been cooled by Swiftech AIO coolers. They perform great and are far easier to deal with than a full custom loop. So, when Swiftech asked us to look at their all new H240 X3, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

WireGuard VPN Review

Fewer lines of code, simpler setup, and better algorithms make a strong case. WireGuard is a new type of VPN which aims to be simpler to set up and maintain than current VPNs and to offer a higher degree of security. The software is free and open source—it's licensed GPLv2, the same license as the Linux kernel—which is always a big plus in my book. It's also designed to be easily portable between operating systems. All of that might lead you to ask: in a world that already has IPSEC, PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN, and a bewildering array of proprietary SSL VPNs, do we need yet another type of VPN?

OK, but why?
I've seen a few new VPN designs pop up in the last few years—ZeroTier and Tinc come to mind—and each time, I've thought, "I should really look into that." And then I haven't. I use OpenVPN heavily; I'm thoroughly familiar with it, and it scratches most of my VPN-related itches pretty well.
