Research firm Kantar Worldpanel Comtech has claimed that Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system is helping HTC and Nokia gain market share.

From The Inquirer:
According to Kantar, HTC's UK market share has grown by four percent to 9.1 percent, with Dominic Sunnebo, global consumer insight director at Kantar Worldpanel Comtech, citing the HTC One X+ and the HTC Windows Phone 8S as good sellers. Sunnebo also said that Nokia's UK market share rose to 5.6 percent, citing Windows Phone 8 sales.

Sunnebo said Nokia's sales growth is "now being driven by its Windows 8 devices appealing to consumers, rather than sales of older Windows 7 models on promotion, which is good news for margins". We assume Sunnebo is referring to Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7, here.
