Flyoobe 1.10 (Stable) is Now Available

Belim has just released the stable version of Flyoobe 1.10, a significant update that brings numerous improvements and new features.

What's New in Flyoobe 1.10?

This major release includes several key changes:

Renamed Repository

The repository has been renamed from Flyby11 to Flyoobe, effective immediately. Although old links will continue to work due to GitHub's URL forwarding capabilities (HTTPS and SSH), it is recommended that users update their bookmarks and link to the new repository: https://github.com/builtbybel/Flyoobe.

Addressing False Positives

An overly simplistic OpenURL method in C# inadvertently triggered some false positives during the 1.10 preview release. This issue has been resolved, but AV engines remain a mystery. It appears that the extension download and OpenURL/Process.Start combo was misinterpreted as a classic downloader/phishing attempt.

Navigation Improvements

The navigation system has undergone significant changes:

  • Introduced a modern bottom navigation with a Next button to guide users through a clear step-by-step flow.
  • Replaced the old right-side TreeView with large, tappable buttons at the bottom, making navigation easier and more comfortable than using narrow tree nodes.
Enhanced AI Detection and Review

The AI detection and review process has been improved for better accuracy.

Refresh Button Enhancements (Ref. IView)

The Refresh button has been optimized to provide a smoother user experience.

Improved Wi-Fi Network Display

In some cases, no Wi-Fi networks were displayed when location services were disabled due to Windows' requirement for location access for Wi-Fi scanning. This issue has been resolved by displaying a helpful message and redirecting the user to the Windows Location Settings to enable access.

Alignment with Microsoft Windows Style

Control naming conventions have been improved to align with Microsoft Windows style, making the interface more intuitive and familiar for users.

Streamlined Experience Page

The experience page has been streamlined by removing redundancies related to Microsoft Edge, AI, and UI. The AI features have been moved into a dedicated OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience) page.

Expanded Scripting Support for Setup Extensions

Setup extensions can now be created using PowerShell scripts. For more information on how this works, please refer to the Write an Extension Guide document.

Extensions can also be downloaded directly via a URL or imported from your local PC.

New Extensions:

  1. Default Power Plan: Quickly switch between Balanced, High Performance, and Battery Saver during setup.
  2. File Explorer Tweaks: Configure common Explorer settings, such as showing file extensions, hiding files, or opening this PC by default.
  3. Post-setup Cleanup: Remove temporary files, Windows.old, component store leftovers, and update caches to free up disk space after installation.
  4. Windows 11 Honest Mode: Inspect telemetry settings, startup apps, and scheduled tasks to reveal what Windows is running in the background.
