Flyoobe 1.25 released
Belim has recently released version 1.25 of Flyoobe, a Windows Setup assistant designed to facilitate the installation of Windows 11 version 22H2 on hardware that is not officially supported by Microsoft.
The latest update builds upon the codenames Loki and Wingman, with an enhanced out-of-box experience (OOBE) tailored specifically for Windows 11. The OOBE process has been optimized to eliminate unnecessary components, also known as "debloating," which targets artificial intelligence (AI) elements, bundled applications, and overall user interaction.
Upon initial setup, users are presented with a streamlined navigation flow reminiscent of Windows 10, focusing on upgrades or reinstalls. Once the transition to Windows 11 is complete, the full OOBE interface becomes accessible. To achieve this seamless experience, the developers have implemented various general UI improvements and color harmonization across all OOBE panels.
One notable aspect of Flyoobe 1.25 is its native rendering capabilities, which set it apart from the traditional Windows 11 OOBE that relies on the WebView2 engine to display an HTML/CSS/JS-based interface. In contrast, this app leverages pure system-level rendering without the need for a Chromium layer or Webview2 engine.
The navigation experience has been enhanced with the addition of a feature allowing users to collapse the main panel and switch to full-screen mode using a toggle button located next to the "More" menu. Furthermore, improvements have been made to the notification area to ensure better clarity and consistency.
In terms of integration, Flyoobe 1.25 includes optimized PowerShell extensions for faster and cleaner execution. Additionally, a new extension known as the "Windows Update Tamer" has been integrated into the app. This tool enables users to manage Windows 11 updates directly from within Flyoobe, allowing them to pause or resume updates, disable automatic updates, set an extended pause period of up to 10 years, and restore default update behavior.
