KitGuru: Sapphire Edge AI Mini PC Review (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370)

When we think of Sapphire products, we’re almost certainly thinking of good quality AMD-based graphics cards. Sure, we’ve seen some of the company's Embedded and Edge+ solutions at Computex over the years, but we've never looked too closely. The new Edge AI series could change that however, offering a tiny barebones mini PC that packs in AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with integrated Radeon 890M graphics, on sale for just £650 here in the UK. Let’s take a closer look…

The Guru of 3D: ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E EXTREME motherboard review

ASUS is pushing boundaries again with the ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme, one of the most feature-packed AM5 motherboards you can buy. It costs about $899 and is clearly aimed at builders who like experimenting with overclocking and want every possible port and display built into their system. The most eye-catching part is the 5-inch LCD screen built right into the I/O cover. It’s a full inch bigger than the one on MSI’s Godlike board and slides slightly to stay visible even if you’ve got a fan sitting next to it. You can show things like CPU temperature, voltages, or fan speed on it — or upload your own static image if you want some custom flair. Under the hood, the X870E Extreme uses a 20-phase power design with 110 A stages, so it has plenty of headroom for high-end Ryzen chips and liquid cooling setups. It includes two PCIe 5.0 slots that run in ×8/×8 mode when both are populated, plus five M.2 slots for storage. Three of those use PCIe 5.0 for the latest SSDs, and you get two more PCIe 4.0 slots through an included Q-DIMM.2 card. The main Gen5 slot even has a vapor-chamber cooler to handle the heat. GPU installation is made easier thanks to ASUS’s Q-Release Slim button, which lets you tilt the card out of the slot instead of fighting with the latch. Sadly, not every SSD slot is tool-free — you’ll still need a screwdriver for some of the heatsinks.
