UniGetUI 3.3.7 released
UniGetUI 3.3.7 is out now, focusing on getting things right in its user interface for managing packages. There wasn't one major change more significant than the switch back to .NET 8 and AppSdk 1.7; this puts it on a stable foundation again after some beta testing.
New features include the ability to automatically update specific software components while leaving others untouched. It's great when you only need to refresh certain parts of your setup, not everything at once; this makes those targeted updates much smoother without potentially disrupting working things unnecessarily.
The developers have also given UniGetUI a better handle on packages whose versions aren't recognized right away. This often happens with unfamiliar or unusual naming conventions, and the updated handling aims to make those interactions more reliable and less likely to confuse you.
Under the hood, there are several fixes that smooth out the operation. For example, .NET Tool update checks were causing some bumps before; they're addressed now so updates just run as expected without sticking points. Minor tweaks have also been made to specific ToggleSwitch labels on settings screens to ensure everything feels uniform and easy to understand.
Another good thing is that an issue where you couldn't skip past a failed version upgrade has finally been resolved; things should flow more naturally there if problems occur mid-update. And for users relying heavily on NPM, detection for this important dependency manager has gotten better, likely making setups smoother.
Elsewhere in the process, improvements have touched the uninstall feature itself and refined how you handle updates after removing old versions. There's a particular mention of a crash that used to happen during certain update sequences; it should be gone now by version 3.3.7.
Aesthetic upgrades include proper dark mode support, so the interface looks good in low-light conditions too. The installer iconography has also been refreshed for a more modern appearance. And crucially, fix #4232 prevents UniGetUI from halting altogether when trying to set up an autorun entry, that failure shouldn't stop you cold anymore.
