Microsoft has released Visual Studio Code 1.102.0 with a range of updates, such as the open-sourced GitHub Copilot Chat extension, MCP support, and enhancements to the editor experience. Users have the opportunity to explore and contribute to the extension, create custom instructions, and utilize custom modes for tasks such as planning or research. MCP servers are now accessible in profiles and Settings Sync, and tasks can be delegated to the Copilot coding agent.
