Visual Studio Code 1.107.1 released
Visual Studio Code 1.107.1 is now available, bringing a range of improvements and fixes to the popular code editor.
One change is that VS Code now handles side-by-side sessions. Previously, if you preferred a specific view, you would have to set it up yourself; however, switching between side-by-side sessions is now much clearer from the start, making it easier to use VS Code smoothly.
There are also enhancements related to user input requests. Specifically, when working with background sessions or agent sessions, copying changes for a workspace used to wipe out prompt history unnecessarily. That seems fixed now, and this should help make your workflow feel faster and more natural in those contexts.
On the bug-fixing side, things like how tool calls collapse by default in Cloud sessions, and issues rendering Input Needed messages within Agent Sessions have been addressed. These adjustments show that VS Code is focused on getting small details right alongside larger feature work to provide a cleaner overall experience.
Elsewhere, users reported some problems – you know, the little things that chip away at productivity. The team has fixed instances where "Suggestion preview" didn't behave quite as expected and also resolved issues with the Agent Sessions sidebar acting up (like not hiding or showing properly). Community members have often been key to finding these kinds of nicks and cuts.
It's notable too that a few previously identified problems were initially marked as 'not planned' or required extra checks before getting addressed. That just highlights how VS Code keeps track of feedback, sometimes prioritizing fixes after discussion.
So overall, the 1.107.1 update helps smooth over some rough edges users have pointed out. User feedback helped resolve specific bugs related to background/cloud setup, suggestion preview, and sidebar behavior in agent sessions, sometimes through official fixes or Insider channels.
