Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.6780 (Dev Channel) released
Microsoft has released Windows Insider Preview Build 26220.6780 to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. This build added many new features to improve the user experience. One of the most important new features is an improved agent in Settings that makes it easy for users to make changes. It has a "Recommended Settings" section that shows recently changed options.
The search function has also been improved to make it easier to find things and change settings. For example, if you type "increase volume" into the search bar, you'll get a notification when the volume is at its highest, along with a slider that lets you change the sound level. This easy-to-use design makes it easy for users to find the settings they want.
There have also been major changes to the Drag Tray that make it easier to share multiple files at once and suggest the best apps for moving documents around. Furthermore, the "Click to Do" feature now has visual cues for important things like emails and tables, which makes it easier to use.
A few long-awaited features have been brought back, such as the Administrator Protection option in Windows Security and a new OneDrive icon in Settings. These new features make the overall experience better for users.
Improvements are also underway behind the scenes, particularly in the dark mode experience. Notably, a slow rollout process has improved the Run dialog. Also, many bugs have been fixed in different places, like Click to Do, the Taskbar, File Explorer, and the Start menu. These fixes address issues related to display gestures, app crashes, mismatched search results, and other unusual behaviors.
But some problems that are already known still exist. The new animations on taskbar previews have been turned off for now because they made it difficult to share windows. Additionally, users may encounter issues with the dark mode copy dialog in File Explorer and Xbox controllers connected via Bluetooth.
Despite these problems still being present, this update shows that Windows 11 is committed to improving its core features and resolving problems that are still happening, all while adding more ways for users to have a better experience and more functionality.
