Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27971 (Canary Channel) released

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27971 to Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel. One of the new features is that the Notification Center can now do more on secondary monitors. Users can now show their calendar and a bigger clock with seconds above it on any screen. In addition, users can open the Notification Center on any monitor they want by clicking the date and time in the taskbar's system tray.

It's important to note that this feature is still being rolled out to Insiders in the Canary Channel, and not everyone will have access to it yet. Microsoft wants to gather feedback before making it available to everyone. This approach ensures immediate resolution of any issues or bugs.

Windows 11 Build 27971 fixes several bugs that had been bothering Insiders in the Canary Channel. Thanks to a remedy for a problem that was making File Explorer crash, it should now work properly when moving files to a network drive. Additionally, we have fixed issues with the lock screen's media controls and pen and handwriting features.

The build also fixes problems with playing protected content and Hyper-V virtual machines on ARM64 devices with Trusted Platform Module (TPM). However, some known issues from Build 27971 may still affect users. For instance, going to Settings > System > Storage or right-clicking a drive in File Explorer and choosing Properties may cause Settings to crash.

Another problem that has been reported is that Insiders with the new Start menu may find that it scrolls to the top without warning. Lastly, Microsoft is looking into reports that some devices have trouble sleeping and shutting down after installing the latest Canary builds. Microsoft's development team will monitor these issues and address them as necessary.
