GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD6 Motherboard Preview
TweakTown posted GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD6 Motherboard Preview

Back at Computex in June of this year GIGABYTE showed us some of their P55 boards. These new boards will support the new Lynnfield, or as it has been rumoured to be called, Core i5 CPUs from Intel. While Lynnfield is not due for launch until sometime in September, we had the chance to spend some quality time with one of GIGABYTE’s high-end P55 offerings, the GA-P55-UD6.

While these boards will not be 100% ready for some time, especially after the announcement that the Marvell 88SE9123 SATA 6G controller chips will not be on the final production runs, it was still good to get a feel for how these boards will look and feel.

Artic Cooling Accelero XTREME 4870X2 Review
Bjorn3D takes a look at the Artic Cooling Accelero XTREME 4870X2.

We all known Artic Cooling for years now, not just because they have some of the quietest GPU coolers on the planet, but for their uncanny ability to incorporate a stylish design with great cooling capacity. When anyone is looking for a GPU cooler to help cool their video cards Artic Cooling is always one of the first ones to get mentioned, by both entry level people and also those from the enthusiast crowd.

We also know that ATI's HD4870X2 to be both powerful, and lets not forget its ability to run hot. When the 4870X2 video card came out the only true way on cooling this monster of a video card down, was by using a water block. While that does not bother most of us Enthusiast types of people, this limitation definitely put a big 'NO WAY' to the entry/average user. The end result was most of the end users ended up either putting up with the extremely loud fan on the 4870X2 video card (by ramping it up to 50-100%) or just dealt with the extreme heat this card produced, therefore shortening the life of this video card drastically.

How does Artic Cooling and the 4870X2 tie into each other? Well, heres a simple answer, Artic Cooling finally listened to our pleas for an after market cooler for the4870X2 video card. So lets give a good look at the new Air cooler from Artic Cooling the Accelero XTREME 4870X2.

Antec Skeleton Open Air Enclosure Review
Hi Tech Legion has posted an article on zhr Antec Skeleton Open Air Enclosure

Are you a skeptic? I hate to admit it but sometimes I am a skeptic - not a pessimist, just a skeptic. Most of us resort to skepticism when something is too good to be true or it defies something that is the norm. Innovation just about always is the main cause of skepticism because to be innovative means to be different. Difference is change or a new pathway and most of us don't like change, especially if it is changing something we know that works. The Antec Skeleton Case is a cause for skepticism. The Antec Skeleton case is an open air computer case that has one 250 mm fan which is supposed to keep your components dust free. Antec claims that all the Skeleton needs is this one fan to keep your valuable components dust free. So lets face it, I was just as skeptical as the next person.

Zotac ION A-Series ITX Motherboard Review
Tech-Reviews.co.uk posted a review on the Zotac ION A-Series ITX Motherboard

ITX motherboards have been around for long time now. The problem is, they've been so far behind in technology and with such high price tags it makes them an option not even worth considering. However, with the release of the Intel Atom processor, a series of ITX motherboards using the processor have been released. Some people say these are the new generation of motherboards. Built with onboard processors, graphics and power supplies, you can easily build a low cost energy efficient computer system for around 200-250.

AMD RADEON HD4890 CrossFire on AMD 790FX Platform
LostCircuits posted a review on AMD RADEON HD4890 CrossFire on AMD 790FX Platform

After a few first timid steps into the direction of multi-GPUs with all the arguing about which strategies would be better and both ATI and nVidia coming out with evermore creative ways of putting their label on things and fighting the world of game developers for support it looks like finally there is a real benefit for high-end games using CrossFire or else SLI. Some of the games still do not scale in a 1:1 fashion but the trend is there and some 80% increase in overall performance from the use of two cards is certainly something to write home about.
