Freespire 1.0 Review
The Jem Report posted a review on Freespire 1.0

The proprietary video drivers work wonderfully -- the Intel Extreme Graphics on my TravelMate had direct rendering enabled by default, as did the ATI Radeon X700 on my desktop test machine. What really blew me away wasn't the graphics drivers, though -- it was the wireless network drivers. Freespire includes not only the Atheros (madwifi) drivers, but also Centrino wireless drivers and the NDISwrapper utility, pre-stocked with 26 Windows wireless network drivers. Freespire 1.0 was the first operating system I have ever installed -- Windows included -- on this Acer machine without having to go to great lengths to get the integrated wireless card working. I had wireless Internet access by default. The only consistent problem I had with wireless connectivity was the crappy Connection Manager applet. If I closed the lid on the Acer laptop (this only shuts the screen off -- ACPI isn't fully supported on the TravelMate 2300 yet) and put it on the floor next to my chair, I would come back to it later and find that the wireless connection had gone away. Nothing I could do from Connection Manager or the command line could bring the network up again. The best I could do was shut the computer down, wait a few minutes, then start up again.

Ultra X-Connect 550 Watt Modular PSU Review
PC Mech posted a review on the Ultra X-Connect 550 Watt Modular PSU

Of the major components in your computer, there is one piece that people tend to turn a blind eye towards, not thinking about the vitality of its operation and durability. The power supply is easily the most important piece of equipment in your computer, and also one of the relatively cheaper parts. When people who are new to computers organize their first build, they tend to think that any power supply will do just fine -- a power supply is a power supply. They buy the ones with the most wattage, because the bigger the number, the better it is, right?

Surviving Disk Crashes
PC Mech posted an article on surviving disk crashes

Small businesses seldom have an adequate back-up procedure in place. But the horrors of not having data back-ups are well documented and everyone is at least aware of the problem. It is the lack of system backups or restore points that takes many by surprise. The conventional wisdom is that you should back-up documents and data -- the valuable, irreplaceable business assets. If a hard drive crashes or the computer begins to misbehave, you can always reinstall the operating system and the applications.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, E6700 and X6800
The Guru of 3D takes a look at the Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, E6700 and X6800 processors

So if Conroe "sounds" new to you .. have you been living under a rock ? Hey all and welcome to another Guru3D review. Today we'll be taking three new Intel processors for a test-drive.

All in all a good opportunity to have a look at all the new Core 2 Duo processors and their performance as you already know it, they deliver some serious punch in your face. Where AMD has been leading the market and had the throne they are now becoming the underdog. Ever since Conroe was released, AMD lowered prices yet still has a hard time to fight Intel's latest.

Supertalent is still fairly new on the memory market but they have already got some very good ratings in reviews they have been in. We recieved a sample of their new kit, X35B2GC2, that we will be comparing to some other well performing brands to see what type of performance we can get out of this kit. I always find it very fun to review products from new companies on the market because of being uncertain how well or bad they actually will perform so stay tuned to see our testing results.

Cooler Master Musketeer III Tube Amplifier Review
Motherboard.org posted a review on the Cooler Master Musketeer III Tube Amplifier

Sure it might be a novel idea, and an easy way to get a front audio port, but what did you guys really expect - that a $50 audio "enhancer" could turn terrible, bottom of the barrel audio ICs around, and pump theater quality surround sound out of any speakers. Does the product do what it says it can - that being, to warm up, and humanize the audio - yes.

OCZ's flash drive engineering team as well as members of the marketing department have been coordinating and working together very well for quite a while now. With more emphasis -- and proven performance -- of speed more than ever before, reviewers across the world stood in awe as the OCZ Rally locked out the competition by beating every other drive across the board. Building upon its incredible demand and success, OCZ released their follow-up product recently -- the OCZ Rally2. Will this be a worthy successor to its older brother, as well as raising the bar of flash disks and revolutionize solid state portable storage once more? As computer enthusiasts we are currently entering a new era of CPU performance with the launch of Intel's new processor range, Core 2 Duo (Conroe) and AMD's new socket, the AM2. SanDisk Sansa e260 Review
TheTechLounge posted a review on the SanDisk Sansa e260

Sandisk has been testing the waters of the music player business for a few years now. I’d never really considered their portable music systems, although I’ve always been a fan of their flash storage. I own a couple of their flash media cards for my digital cameras and have continually been impressed by their product line-up as displayed at CES. For the most part, Sandisk has been focusing on small, flash-based players with minimal capacity. I was looking for something in the 4-6 GB capacity range with voice recording and FM radio options and hadn’t given Sandisk a second thought. But when I laid eyes on the Sandisk Sansa e260, I knew that I had found an MP3 player that was close to fitting the bill (plus the glossy black matches my new car, another important feature to consider). But, like most portable music players, there is always that chance that it wouldn’t live up to the Great White Hype. Let’s see if that turns out to be the case, shall we?

Vantec NexStar LX NAS Storage Review
A True Review has posted a review on the Vantec NexStar LX NAS Storage

It's been a few years since I reviewed Ximeta's NetDisk. I have used this product extensively, but had issues with it. Finally, the issues became too annoying to continue use with this product and I basically now use it as a USB drive. I loved the idea and that is why when Vantec hit me up to review NexStar LX NAS Storage I was excited. NAS storage is perfect for the home or even small businesses. Shares are accessible even if other computers aren't turned on in the network. Hopefully, Vantec's NexStar LX NAS Storage works like a NAS storage unlike the NetDisk.

FrozenCPU Ultimate LCD Power Supply Tester Review
Virtual-Hideout has posted a review on the FrozenCPU Ultimate LCD Power Supply Tester

Overall this unit worked quickly and flawlessly. Having a PSU tester is important, but having a high quality one like this, with an informative LCD, is just that much sweeter. This new version is far superior in my opinion then the previous generations and honestly I don't think this could get any better at this point.

Cannot Delete File: Cannot Read from the Source File or Disk
The TechZone shows you how to delete that cannot delete file.

Recently I had a program cause a problem with; well I'm not sure exactly what. But it created a file folder that absolutely could not be deleted no matter what I tried. I tried to rename it, to move it, to delete it, from safe mode, from administrator safe mode, nothing worked. I spent hours and hours searching the web trying to find a solution. What I found on the net darkened my hopes of ever getting rid of this folder short of a format and reload of windows.

Xandros 4.0 Review - How to do a entry level distro almost right
KnoLinux published a review on Xandros 4.0

When I first played with Xandros back a few years, it was being touted as the distribution that actually worked and could be a Windows replacement for new users. At the time, I was new to Linux and willing to take that risk and well, wasn't impressed. I then got a hold of a 3.0 distro and loaded it on my wife's laptop so she could stop getting killed by malware and popups. She liked some things of Linux, but by no means is interested in her laptop being either Windows or Linux. Well, the wireless never worked, so she never used it. It was extremely difficult to even attempt setting up NDISWRAPPER, which is by far the easiest way to get wireless working IMHO, so I quit and now it just sits there idle.

So Xandros now has 4.0, which really is nothing super special, mainly upgrading pieces to more recent/less buggy with many of the latest (operational) offerings on the kernel, KDE and other aspects. With their "Making Linux work for you" tag line, lets see how they did...
