ATI Radeon HD 2600XT vs Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS
TechSpot posted a comparison review between ATI Radeon HD 2600XT and Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS

While Nvidia remains quite dominant in the high-end segment, a much larger battle has taken place to offer the best mainstream graphics product. Currently the two leading mainstream cards are the Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS and the ATI Radeon HD 2600XT, both of which are priced well under $200.

Today we will be comparing these two mid-range graphics cards head to head using a 512MB VisionTek Radeon HD 2600XT and a 256MB ASUS GeForce 8600 GTS. While neither product features overclocking out of the box, the Radeon has an obvious advantage in that it sports twice as much video memory. And while this may appear to be unfair, we have found that the average 512MB Radeon HD 2600XT graphics card retails for just $140, while the average price of a GeForce 8600 GTS sporting 256MB of memory is $160.

Corsair Flash Padlock USB Drive Review
Bjorn3D look at the Corsair Flash Padlock USB Drive.

The tiny flash drive is a great portable device but due to its size, it’s also prone to be lost. Although they are cheap to replace as you can get a gig of storage for about $10, the invaluable data lost is what one should worry about, especially the important personal information stored on the drive. We have seen many companies selling various flash drives with different ways of offering security to the flash drive. Corsair has recently released a hardware-based security flash drive, the Flash Padlock, and today we get a chance to take a look at the Flash Padlock and put this drive to the test.

CoolIT Freezone CPU Cooler Review
OCModShop posted CoolIT Freezone CPU Cooler Review

Extreme overclockers are always looking for bleeding-edge ways to get e very once from their hardware. They use powerful fans, extensive water-cooling setups, and even thermoelectric plates to make sure their rigs run reliably, even when pushed beyond the intended performance envelope. Recently, hardware manufacturers have been producing "all-in-one" watercooling devices, which are easy to install, and don't require the extensive hassle of traditional modular watercooling systems.

Now, CoolIT has entered the fray with a new type of water-cooling unit with their Freezone CPU Cooler. Unlike traditional systems, the Freezone does not use a radiator, but uses a proprietary "chiller", which uses multiple TECs (peltier plates) to cool the liquid coolant, essentially refrigerating the liquid without a compressor (as expensive phase-change coolers use). This system provides greater thermal efficiency and increased reliability, and is easier to install than full-sized water-cooling kits.

Cowon D2 DMB 4GB MP3/Media Player Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Cowon D2 DMB 4GB MP3/Media Player.

Bringing true innovation to a sector as intensely competitive as MP3 players is a difficult thing to do. Mostly, companies satisfy themselves with trying to outdo each other on the style front. Others focus on sound quality above all else, and there are one or two who just chuck as many features at their players as possible and then sell them at seemingly suicidal prices.

Steganos Safe 2008 Review
BIOS Magzine posted a review on Steganos Safe 2008

When you encrypt a file or folder, you are converting it to a format that can't be read by other people. A file encryption key is added to files or folders that you choose to encrypt. This key is needed to read the file. Steganos Safe 2008 (=A317.99) makes the encryption and decryption process easy - when you are logged on to your computer, you'll be able to read them. Anyone who tries to use your computer without your logon will not be able to read them, even if the storage medium it is stored on is lost or stolen. Steganos Safe 2008 has been optimised for use on Microsoft Vista and introduces encryption for Outlook Express and Windows Mail, in addition to protecting the standard edition of Outlook and any user-selected data files. You can create any number of encrypted safes to store sensitive data, each one with a capacity of up to 256GB - ideal for large volumes of data such as film archives, digital photo collections, spreadsheets, letters and tax documents. Thankfully, existing data safes from the earlier versions of Steganos Safe can be imported to this latest version. This latest release further allows you to configure the password entry field for a safe to open automatically when your computer is started.

Thermaltake SopranoRS 100 Review
PC Modding Malaysia posted a review on the Thermaltake SopranoRS 100

The SopranoRS 100 is a pretty decent PC case with all the dings and whistle of a high-end enclosure. It is huge and relatively cheap, so we dare not whine about it. However, it might not be the ideal chassis for a LAN party as it is relatively heavy for most users. The SopranoRS 100 is much suited to be installed in a home/office environment. Keeping the tool-less concept throughout the case made installation a snap but there were some times where a screwdriver was needed. We didn't like the fact that both side panels must be removed to pop open the front panel. Although the front panel was nice and all, it wasn't very classy as it was made of plastic.

Microcool T441/T412 Thermal Pads and Chip Protectors Review
Madshrimps posted a review on the Microcool T441/T412 Thermal Pads and Chip Protectors

Upgrading your cooling is not always the success you hoped for: thermal pads with bad adhesive, weird mounting mechanisms, or even worse a crushed processor core! All those things might sound as familiar for you as it is for me, luckily Microcool has the answer, I take a look at their Thermattach T411 & T412 thermal pads and core protective rubbers.

Gigabyte Triton 180 PC Case Review
ThinkComputers.org posted a review on the Gigabyte Triton 180 PC Case

Gigabyte has been around since the mid-1980s, which makes them one of the founders of the modern custom PC industry. Starting with motherboards, Gigabyte now also makes video cards, cases, optical drives, storage solutions, most periphials, power supplies, air cooling, liquid cooling, notebooks and notebook cooling, and now home media PCs. Gigabyte is well known for their high quality products. They generally market their products to the enthusiast willing to pay a little more for that high quality, but desiring products a little less extreme, a little more on the conservative side. So, my expectations for the Triton 180 are that it will be a well made, high quality case, with attention paid to every detail, but but somewhat conservative. Let's see if it lives up to that.

Kingwin, aka KWI Technology Inc, has been around since 1992, which makes them one of the oldest aftermarket hardware companies in the industry. They started out making CPU coolers and external HDD racks, and now are into liquid cooling, cases, high performance air cooling, power supplies and some pretty innovative storage solutions. They pioneered the use of aluminum in external storage enclosures, which led the way for its use in cases.

Seasonic S12 II 500W Review
Overclockers Online has posted a new review on the Seasonic S12 II 500W

As the predecessor of the widely successful Seasonic S12, nothing short of excellence would suffice. As we have seen today, Seasonic's S12II 500W has lived up to its expectation. Priced only slightly more than $100, the S12II 500W is a great buy for those who are looking for a silent high end power supply for a mid ranged system.

Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC 3 Review
OCC has published a new review of the Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC 3

This next subsection is something I really like. It's called "File Shredder". When you delete files on your computer, you merely delete the visible reference to it. To insure that the file is completely off of your machine, you can use this "File Shredder" option and get rid of the files. The last subsection under this tab is the "Uninstall Manager" which is much like the Windows "Add and Remove Programs" in the Control Panel.

OCZ Stealth X Stream 600 Watt PSU Review
XtremeComputing posted a review on the OCZ Stealth X Stream 600 Watt PSU

For this review I will be looking at some hardware from possibly one of the best-known names in the PC hardware industry. That company being OCZ and the hardware in question is the OCZ Stealth X Stream 600watt power supply. Whilst most people associate OCZ with memory, rightly so as their memory is some of the best available, OCZ also manufacture cooling products and power supplies too
