I've had Sims 2 a while now but a few months ago I got a new laptop. I uninstalled Sims, and went to install it on the new computer, I kept getting errors. On disc 1 it was installing 3% at a time, very slowly and kept showing errors all the way. I went back to the old laptop and tried again but this time there was a completley different error.

When I try to load it the language box comes up when I press next it disapears then after a few seconds a box comes back saying:

Error executing 'D:/support/The Sims 2_uninst.exe'
Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed.

The disc does have a few scratches but I don't see how that could cause two completely different problems. Please help.
