On Asus website... every release of these drivers has the file 'smwdm.sys' missing and install is terminated.

I agree.... I cannot find a working sound driver from the ASUS site for 32 bit VISTA. SMWDM.SYS is totally missing. The ASUS site has very poor support for it's products.

Ok, trying the drivers with a blank SMWDM.SYS file (copy, rename and clear in notepad one fo the other .sys files) brings up setup.... which then tells you that your hardware isnt right for the drivers....
