setup.exe fails to launch. You get an hour glass for about 5 seconds then nothing happens.

Tried installing to an XP machine, copying across installed files and no cd patching, the game executable fails to run under Vista also. Logged a ticket with Ubisoft support. Their response: "Ubisoft presently does not support Windows Vista. Thankyou for your understanding." Will not be buying another game from this publisher until this issue is addressed.

This game uses starforce copy protection which will not work under Vista. As starforce cannot be completely removed from an exe, the game will not work until ubisoft publishes a patch that removes starforce completely.

I supposedly have a Starforce update for Windows Vista. UberSoldier uses SF too, and it works with Vista, but BiAEiB still refuses to.

GET YOUR FINGER OUT UBISOFT !!!!!!!

I have older games like Call of Duty, Return to Castle Wolfenstein which run on Vista 32bit no problem.
The fact you are not supporting Vista for older games is VERY VERY POOR business.
I and many others WILL NOT be buying any more games from you no matter how good they are!

Here is a workaround that has worked for me:
I installed the game on me XP machine then copied the main game folder over my network to my Vista machine.
I downloaded the no CD patch for Road to Hill 30.
I extracted the BIA.EXE file into the system folder under the main game folder (e.g. C:\Games\EIB\System
To play the game I run BIA.EXE instead of EIB.EXE.
Right click on the games shortcut on your desktop and edit the properties to run BIA.EXE

I hope this works for you too.

Yes this is true it sucks games this great don't run, now I don't know about you but I've been going through this for years, microsoft obsoletes an operating system and games that ran on the last one won't run anymore.

I don't see this as a game developer's problem, Microsoft reckon their compatibility settings are the be all and end all when they just don't do the job. How about getting on their back to make it work, THERE's a much more productive idea.

I have a dos box with 95, a 98 box, an xp box and a vista 64bit box, should the need to play a game turn up, i rip the box out of the cupboard and connect it up.

So, for about sfa you can put a box together for older games.

So how about quitting your whining about game developers not releasing compatability patches for newer systems, when microsoft can't find a system to stick to, and forces the world into spending another 500 + dollars on an os in 5 years THEY won't be doing anything for either.

Misplaced rage there guys, look at the real problem.

Hi

I just bought this game today, got home, installed it. Then when i tried to run it wouldnt work due to the fact that i am running Windows Vista (Premium)

So i did some googling on how to fix this star protection thing. Someone said to go here....

http://www.star-force.com/support/drivers/

which i did. I installed the star force thing from that page, rebooted the comp and now it works.

Hope this helps you all too.

cheers
josh
