When starting recieve error "unable to find suitable device"

Responds with the error "Please report exception code(c0000094) ADDRESS: (40a68d)" when run with default settings.
If any "compatibility" setting is attempted, game responds with the message "CreateSurface for Z-buffer failed. The pixel format was invalid as specified."
