3D Prophet III GeForce3 Review

t-break has posted a review on the Hercules 3D Prophet III video card.




nVidia calls it the infinite effects GPU. Why do they say that? Because the GeForce3 is programmable. And straight out of nVidia’s site here’s what they mean in plain and simple English:

The GeForce3 GPU´s nfiniteFX engine gives developers the ability to program a virtually infinite number of special effects and custom looks. Instead of developers having to choose from the same hard-coded palette of effects and ending up with the same generic look and feel, they can specify personalized combinations of graphics operations and create their own custom effects.
