Enermax Thormax GT Full-Tower Case: Big on Ideas

Full-tower cases are sought after for the extra room they provide for system building but if size is the only thing they offer then things would get boring fast. With the market as competitive as it is, case manufacturers have begun looking into offering more than space and design cases that appeal to a lifestyle rather than be an all-in-one … Read more.

ilverStone Kublai KL05 Computer Case Review

It is currently only April, but it certainly feels like it was Christmas not too long ago. You may ask, how is that possible when the Christmas season was clearly more than four months ago or eight months away? Let me explain this to you by giving you a little back story. Many of the staff here at APH Networks have heard me complain various times about my laptop, and knew I wanted to build a new computer. However, we held off on this, because I had no experience in this field, and giving me computer parts would mean no less than an electronic mess. But after writing a few reviews here at APH Networks, it was time to move on to something a little bigger and more meaningful, quite figuratively and literally. Hence this is why it felt a lot like Christmas when I received the SilverStone Kublai KL05 from Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Kwan. While he does not have a big belly or a big red suit, I was quite certain he was wearing his favorite Calvin Klein jacket. We did a quick exchange in a parking lot from the trunk of his sleigh (A 2013 Honda Accord) to the trunk of my Toyota Corolla. At first sight, I was simply surprised at how big the box was, even after reading about the specifications of it on the manufacturer’s website. I rushed home and cracked the box open to see what was inside. Let us see what SilverStone has to offer with my first custom PC case, the Kublai KL05. Read on to find out!

Samsung SM951 512GB M.2 PCIe SSDs in RAID 0

If our review yesterday on the Samsung SM951 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD was interesting, but you found yourself thinking that the first M.2 PCI Express 3.0 x4 storage drive just isn't fast enough for you we have a real treat for you today. We managed to get our hands on another Samsung SM951 512GB Drive (part number MZ-HPV512) and slapped it on our Intel X99 desktop test system to make a dynamic RAID 0 array! A single Samsung SM951 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD is capable of 2150MB/s sequential read and 15000 MB/s sequential write speeds, so this setup could possibly get us up to 4300 MB/s sequential read and 3000 MB/s sequential write if all works as planned since we'd be running the SSDs in tandem. Read on to see just how fast we could get two of these M.2 PCIe 3.0x4 SSDs!

Samsung SM951 PCIe SSD 512GB Review

If Samsung's claims are true then the lack of NVMe support shouldn't be too devastating for the SM951 as read speeds are said to reach 2150MB/s and 1500MB/s for writes, which should give the SM951 an advantage in write tests over the Intel SSD 750 1.2TB.
