CM Storm Quick Fire TK Mechanical Keyboard Review

Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 12/13/2012 11:42 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

Hi Tech Legion posted a review on the CM Storm Quick Fire TK Mechanical Keyboard

A good keyboard can make a world of difference in gameplay. Games have evolved into more than just a few buttons. You used to get buy with a fire and jump button. Now, you have an entire keyboard mapped out to different situations, depending on the game. In a game like Planetside 2, they have a different setup from when you are on the ground as an infantry, in a vehicle driving, or in the air flying. That is on top of the common keys that are used in all situations. This seems to be the newest trend in the FPS games that allow more than just run and gun gameplay. A good keyboard is crucial to play at your very best.

The CM Storm Quick Fire TK looks to build on the successful Quick Fire Rapid. The Quick Fire TK is a compact gaming beast of a mechanical keyboard. The TK comes in 3 distinct versions. The red version, SGK-4020-GKCR1, uses Cherry Red MX switches with red backlighting. The brown version, SGK-4020-GKCM1, has Cherry Brown MX switches with white backlighting. The blue version, SGK-4020-GKCL1, has Cherry Blue MX switches and blue backlighting. Features include N-Key rollover in USB mode, an embedded steel plate for max stability, backlighting, multimedia shortcuts, and a Windows lock key. The backlighting can be adjusted to 3 different modes; full backlight, breathing, and WASD only. There are also 5 levels of brightness. Keycaps are ABS, grip coated, and removable. Connectivity is through a 1.8m, braided, gold plated, removable USB cable.
