Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD Review
Legit Reviews posted Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD Review

We've already had a look at the Corsair 120GB Force 3 GT drive and now it's time to give the non-GT version a go on our test bench. These drives are virtually identical save for the type of NAND flash employed and a paint job. Will that make much of a performance difference? Have a read and see how this drive with asynchronous 25nm NAND Flash performs on our test system against tons of other SSDs!

Overall, the Force 3 drive is pretty much what you expect to see with the average, more affordable SandForce SF-2200 drives. Very good all around performance, but not among the elite drives across all tests. Then again, it's not supposed to be. The GT is the flagship for the Force series and has the performance to back it up - but the non-GT is no slouch. This is really due to the hardware difference between them, with the GT having synchronous NAND and the non-GT having asynchronous NAND...

OCZ Vertex 3 240GB Solid State Drive Review
eTeknix.com posted a review on the OCZ Vertex 3 240GB Solid State Drive

This has definitely been the year for SandForce as a lot of companies have plumped for the inclusion of the famous controllers on their latest solid state drives. Among these companies were market leader OCZ who have been at the top of the market for quite some time now and for a company whose knowledge was led by memory based products, it seemed to give OCZ a logical step in the right direction when producing SSD's.

When it comes to other brands, it seems that OCZ and their Vertex range of drives act as a measuring stick in terms of performance and are idolised as the clear benchmark for competing against. With this in mind, OCZ produced higher capacities within the Vertex range and broadened the lineup quite nicely. After a while, a new product was born with the Vertex 2 which we looked at a little while ago and was extremely pleased with and wondered what was next for the market leader

Of course the answer was simple, and therefore the Vertex 3 range of drives were due to come out sporting an improved set of internals, the latest SandForce technology and of course faster speeds thanks to those wonderful internals and the inclusion of running on the SATA III interface. The new measuring stick was in town and it made quite a footprint when it was launched with sequential transfer speeds of 500MB/s + read and write and TRIM support which as we know a lot of drives on the market still don't offer.

Let's take a look at the Vertex 3 240GB SSD to see how OCZ have moved on from the success of their previous models and if they've kept it up with this one.

Nexus SM-9000 Silent Wireless Laser Mouse Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Nexus SM-9000 Silent Wireless Laser Mouse

I first wrote some news about this mouse a little while ago and was quite excited just reporting about it. But, reviewing it? Well, shiver me timbers! A mouse that claims to be silent after decades of hearing that click clack sound of the mouse click? Yeah, right. I'll believe it when I hear it. Well, I really should have had faith... but before we go into the review, let's cover the packaging and contents.

The package is quite small which was good; none of this over-sized box nonsense. There's no useless stuff in the box, everything you need to use the mouse out of the box is included, even the 2 x AAA batteries that are required. The feel of the mouse is great; it has rubberized sides, so it doesn't slip on your fingers and it actually feels quite comfortable. The mouse itself is a bit on the small side, but not too small to be annoying.

Sapphire A75 Pure Platinum Review
OCC has published a review on the Sapphire A75 Pure Platinum

As with all socket types, the motherboard isn't really going to give a noticeable performance increase or decrease. If they did, the comparison charts would be slightly more interesting. So instead of buying a motherboard based on performance, it's best to purchase one based on its overclockability, features, and sometimes even its looks. After using the Sapphire A75 Pure Platinum I'm confident in saying that it doesn't fall short in the latter two of these categories. The one that I'm slightly concerned about is the board's ability to overclock.

Battlefield 3: Desktop PC Platform Recharged
Benchmark Reviews posted Battlefield 3: Desktop PC Gaming Platform Recharged

As one of the most highly anticipated video game sequels of all time, Battlefield 3 will soon be released to gamers worldwide. Originally developed for PC gamers and their powerful enthusiast-level desktop computers, the Battlefield franchise has since diversified its platform portfolio to gaming consoles in a successful pursuit for increased revenue. While the Battlefield series is a solid income-earning product for the developers, it has also become one of the last few remaining hopes for PC gamers to restore their diminishing ranks. But will BF3 deliver enough boost to business to sustain the desktop platform, or will this become yet another historically short period when software demands more hardware instead of vice versa?
