AMD Bundles Together Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and AMD FX CPUs

Buying new hardware is almost always exciting, and purchases are even sweeter when they come with included gifts. In spirit of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided receiving DX12 support in the coming weeks AMD is bundling the game with select AMD FX CPU’s through participating retailers.

The Deus Ex series has been well revered since its inception. The breadth of player choice, storytelling, and player customization was a big step in gaming, and the original Deus Ex is still regarded by many as the best PC game ever made. With varying degrees of success, the series has continued to find success in the same formula started back in 2000.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DX11 Video Card Benchmarks

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided came out yesterday and while the PC version looks good despite being tough on graphics cards. We’ve gotten over the disappointment Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will not be getting DX12 support until September and that folks paid for day 1 DLC and are only allowed to use it once. The good news for us is that we are interested in how Deus Ex: Mankind Divided performs, so we’ll skip the general stuff and look how eight different NVIDIA and AMD desktop graphics cards perform.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided PC Graphics performance (DX11) benchmark review

In this article we'll examine Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in our usual geeky fashion. We'll test the game on the PC platform relative towards graphics card performance with the latest AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers. Multiple graphics cards are being tested and bench-marked with the latest cards such as the GeForce GTX 10 series included as well as Radeon RX series 400 cards. With the newest graphics cards and technologies we'll try and see how well performance in DirectX 11. We initially planned a DX12 review but Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," will not ship with DirectX 12 support at launch. The game was released on August 23, 2016 based on DirectX 11. DirectX 12 renderer will be added via a patch, which will release in the week of 5th September (hopefully).

We test with the game based on the release last week, all patched up combined with AMD Radeon Software Crimson 16.8.2 drivers and for Nvidia their 372.54 WHQL driver. This article will cover benchmarks in the sense of average framerates, we'll look at all popular resolutions scaling from Full HD (1920x1080/1200), WHQD (2560x1440) and of course that big-whopper of a resolution Ultra HD. UHDTV (2160p) is 3840 pixels wide by 2160 pixels tall (8.29 megapixels), which is four times as many pixels as 1920x1080 (2.07 megapixels).

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a cyberpunk-themed action role-playing stealth video game developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. Set two years after Human Revolution, Mankind Divided features the return of Adam Jensen from the previous game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, with new technology and body augmentations.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Gaming Review

Small yet nippy, just the way GTX 1060 ought to be? Priced at £260 and measuring 173mm in length, this dual-slot take on Nvidia's 200mm² GPU is one of the shortest to date and stands out as a prime candidate for mini-ITX PCs. Do be careful when browsing the retail shelves, however, as the same cooler design is applied to multiple models, including a new 3GB card which appears attractive at £195 but has, unusually, been revealed to have fewer shaders.

It's the full-fat, 6GB card on the test bench today, meaning 1,280 shaders, 80 texture units and 48 render output units allied to the frame buffer via a 192-bit bus. These 16nm credentials are a good fit for a card of this size, and EVGA's implementation is neat and tidy. The heatsink shroud is pleasant in appearance, the solitary fan should have no trouble taming the underlying GPU, and contrary to the recent trend, there are no flashy LEDs to speak of.

MSI Z170A Tomahawk AC Motherboard Review

The Z170 market is a confusing one with the main motherboard manufacturers each boasting dozens of products, many of which are extremely similar if not carbon copies of one another. Like Gigabyte and ASUS, MSI is guilty of this market saturation as well, particularly between the $125 and $175 price points where they have no fewer than eleven different motherboards. In today’s review we’ll be looking at the Z170A Tomahawk AC, an affordable yet extremely feature-rich motherboard that breaks with the sameness the market has been experiencing in some pretty unique ways.

Trying to market Z170 motherboards hasn’t been easy since the processors they’re attached to have struggled to distinguish themselves from the generation they replaced. However, the platform itself represents something of a renaissance moment from a connectivity standpoint since elements like M.2, USB-C and numerous other features that used to be only available on the enthusiast-grade X99 platform are now more accessible than ever. An excellent example of these market forces at work is the all new MSI Z170A Tomahawk AC.
