Hardware Pub has posted a review on the Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB video card.

$115.00?!? Sounds cheap, right? Well, Hercules and STMicroelectronics knew that they had to offer something to the gaming community besides just performance. GeForce2 Ultra´s and the newly released GeForce3 were already filling that spot. Now, take that same well performing video card and sell it for $149.95 retail, then you´ve got something to smile about. STM´s intention with the Kyro II was to compete within the price range of under $150.00 with cards like the GeForce2 MX and ATI´s Radeon LE. What many reviewer´s have been finding out is that the Kyro II is holding ground with many of the high-end video cards out right now, cards like the GeForce2 Pro and Radeon DDR´s. But, as I will point out later, there are many reasons why one would want to purchase a GeForce2 Ultra or Pro instead of a Kyro II-based video card. Does this detract from the overall value of Kyro II-based boards? Not in the least. Now, if STM slapped a $200.00 retail price on their Kyro II´s then that would be a different story, but since they did not, since the competition for the Kyro II is low-end video cards, the performance of Kyro II is only based on standard´s set by the GeForce2 MX, GeForce2 MX400, and the Radeon LE.
