ASUS ROG RAMPAGE VI APEX X299 Motherboard Review

When looking at the definition of the word APEX, the word is synonymous with being the highest point at which something can be, such as a climax; take that however you wish! Getting more relevant, the APEX in the eyes of ASUS Republic of Gamers is nothing short of climatic, in that short, but the popular lineage of the ASUS ROG APEX line of motherboards has focused primarily on performance. The new RAMPAGE VI APEX from ASUS ROG is certainly no different in those regards and brings overclocking features to the X299 chipset (socket LGA 2066) that 90% of other boards could only dream of doing…

ASUS ROG STRIX X370-F Gaming AM4 Motherboard Review

STRIX means gaming and gaming means STRIX? Weird question, but that’s exactly what the world’s number 1 selling motherboard vendor ASUS want you to know, not just think, but know. When you combine the STRIX branding with a popular and top chipset, it should give a recipe for success, right? Well sure, theoretically and on paper this would be true, but if that was the case, things wouldn’t need to be reviewed based on performance and facts, would they? That being said, today we’ll be feasting our eyes on a board for the red team (AMD) in the shape of the STRIX X370-F Gaming ATX AM4 motherboard from ASUS Republic of Gamers!

Corsair's Carbide Series Spec-04 TG case reviewed

Corsair’s Carbide Series Spec-04 case and its aggressive front panel will turn heads in the sea of black rectangles typical of today’s inexpensive chassis. The Tempered Glass, or TG, version of the case that I’m reviewing today adds a window made from this increasingly-popular material to a chassis that rings in for just $60 at its suggested price.

GAINWARD confirms overclocked GeForce GTX 1070 Ti performance

The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti preorders The GTX 1070 Ti is available for preorder in many places. Some say that preorders of physical goods are different than software preorders because it is just a way of securing your unit before the launch when availability may be a problem later (no such problems with digital goods). Personally, I'm not a fan of any form of preorders, I believe customers should have the full understanding of what they are buying.

Laser printer test: Entry-level work horses

What should a printer be capable of? Printing documents quickly and efficiently; it would be nice for the device, if it's an all-in-one, to be capable of scanning and printing with no issues. In short, no rocket science and such a device should not be expensive. Hardware.Info tests four attractively-priced laser printers.

Even though its purpose is quite simple, a laser printer is quite a complex device from a technical standpoint. A print is made by heating a roll on the right place, sprinkling toner on top of it and after that running the role over the paper. Quite a lot of processes are involved, however this nice technology has become much cheaper the last couple of years.

This means that you can buy a complete all-in-one device for about 130 pounds (you can get even cheaper ones, however it turns out that it's rather difficult to convince manufacturers to send such a device). If you've got modest requirements and if black-white prints are enough for you, you've got plenty to choose from within this budget. This might be a bit weird, considering that laser printers are known to be a great choice for offices, however a laser printer is also a great choice if you print relatively less. If you don't print a lot, you risk that the cartridges dry out if you're using an inkjet printer, laser printers do not have this problem.

Seagate IronWolf Pro 10 TB review: fast NAS-specialist

The capacity of the biggest available hard drives is 10 TB at the moment. Despite their price tag these are ideal drives for those that want to use a single hard drive in their system, or want to fully utilize a NAS with a limited amount of bays. In this article we take a closer look at the new Seagate IronWolf Pro 10 TB.

Last year we saw the introduction of the first 10 TB hard drives, about a year-and-a-half after we welcomed the first 8 TB-models. At the moment the first 12 TB drives (HGST, Seagate) have been announced, but these have not yet entered our test lab. Meanwhile, the number of available 10 TB drives is slowly increasing. Aside from the 10 TB Gold, WD also released 10 TB-versions of their Purple, Red and Red Pro. The sister company of WD, HGST, is also releasing disks with this capacity. The purple drives are meant for use in combination with security cameras while the red drives are meant for use in a NAS. Gold on the other hand is meant for the server market.
