Spire Air Force 120 LED Fan Review

Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 10/17/2012 07:56 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

TopReviewShop.com posted a review on the Spire Air Force 120 LED Fan

In the past, sometimes we've had to choose between a quiet fan or a good looking fan. LED illumination was not always combined with these ultra quiet or high performance characteristics. Spire has attempted to deliver the whole package with the new Air Force 120. This 120mm fan claims to be a “Unique Silent Precision Fan”. Spire appears to have removed this need to compromise, but we are here to make sure they have delivered!

Plastic is a common material for case fans, and Spire didn't challenge this concept. The blades, however, seem to be a more unique design. Progressive pitch is not uncommon, but this fan features a more variable pitch design with the trailing edge of the blade falling back to a more regressive pitch. Perhaps this is their trick to high performance and low noise?

The Air Force fan features rubber feet on both sides at all four corners to help dampen vibration at mounting points. This has been seen before, and I expect we will continue to see it in the future. Additionally, the removable, sleeved power cable was a nice change. While I did need the cable, I have had systems in the past where I already had a cable available from another connection. If this is available, it would not be necessary to add additional cable length into your installation.
