Corsair STRAFE RGB Review

A little while ago we took a look at the latest keyboard from Corsair, the STRAFE. After experiencing the ins and outs of the STRAFE we concluded that it is a great value, fantastic quality mechanical keyboard equipped with Cherry MX switches and advanced lighting effects. Though functional, the single colour backlighting doesn't quite display the full glory of these effects.

This is where the STRAFE RGB makes its mark. Featuring vibrant 16.8m colour LEDs which fully utilise the dynamic lighting effects, the STRAFE RGB will appeal to those who desire maximum customisation. If that wasn't enough, the STRAFE RGB is also exclusively available with Cherry MX Silent switches, Cherry's latest linear mechanical switch that is said to be 30% quieter than other mechanical switches. This exclusivity sets is apart from other brands using Cherry MX switches and allows the STRAFE RGB to join the 'club of mechanical keyboards with exclusive switches' alongside the likes of Razer and their custom made kailh switches.

NZXT H440 New 2015 Edition & Hue+ Review

NZXT has gone from strength to strength with their computer case designs. Over the years we’ve seen them rise up as a prominent force within this category with the Phantom series taking a notable spotlight. One aspect which seems fairly evident with the brand is their passion to innovate and think outside the box and today we’re to look at a refresh of the popular H440 combined with the creativity of their new RGB lighting system.

The H440 2015 Edition slipped onto the market in a rather subtle way in October but hopes to make a lasting impression. NZXT has built on the success of the popular H440 by refining the cosmetics – furnishing this 2015 Edition with an all-black matt finish which contains anti-scratch properties. The height and depth of the chassis has increased and a PWM fan hub makes an appearance too.

NZXT Kraken X61 280mm All-in-One Liquid Cooling Solution Review

Water cooling used to be something only the absolute computer enthusiast would try their hands on. The idea to bring a conductive liquid inside a computer full with expensive components was not something anyone would find appealing, especially since you had to rely on your own skills when it came to make sure the tubing was made correctly and didn’t leak. Anyone who in the end built a water cooled system probably always dreaded waking up one morning and realizing that the reservoir was empty, the system flooded and all the nice shiny toys broken. The last few years though things have gotten easier with all-in-one solutions with radiators, tubes and a heatsink for the CPU (and in rare cases the GPU) that already are assemble. Today we are taking a look at one of these solutions: the NZXT Kraken X61 280mm All-in-One Liquid cooling solution.

SteelSeries Rival 100 Gaming Mouse Review

The SteelSeries Rival 100 is the latest gaming mouse aimed at those who don't want to splash out hundreds of dollars for accurate polling and a delicate sensor. At just $39, the Rival 100 undercuts many of the competitors and yet performs nearly as well. The mouse is mostly bare bones, but it adds a little spice that makes it perhaps the best low-cost gaming mouse on the market.

Tesoro Excalibur Spectrum RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Although pretty much everything in the PC industry changes rapidly thanks to advancements in technology the keyboard and mouse combo are the only two things that have remained pretty much the same since the beginning. Sure we've witnessed the introduction of new and improved membrane and mechanical switches, extra features like macro keys and backlit illumination and different tracking technologies such as optical, laser and LED but in the end the shape and basic functionality of both remains the same. That being said mechanical gaming keyboards have become very popular especially amongst serious gamers, enthusiasts and professionals not only because of the increased durability (up to 60 million keystrokes) and feedback (both audible and tactile) offered by mechanical switches (always compared to regular membrane models) but also because of their features including the newly introduced RGB key illumination. Not long ago Tesoro introduced the Excalibur RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and since it got a really warm welcome by gamers all over the world it didn't take long for them to update it by launching the Excalibur Spectrum Mechanical Gaming Keyboard model which we'll be looking at today.

Established in 2011, Tesoro Technology USA Inc. is a team of multinational gaming enthusiasts with over 30 years industry experience with one objective – make ultra-durable products that give the best gaming experience. To achieve this, Tesoro conceptualizes products from the input and feedback from the gaming community, and then builds them using the highest grade components. As a gamers company, Tesoro continues to expand into new horizons and push the limit further with each product unveiling.

Just like the Excalibur RGB model the Excalibur Spectrum is quite small since it follows the standard 104-key keyboard design without any sort of bells and whistles so unlike the larger (and better looking for some) Lobera models it may not appeal the same way to gamers. Under its hood Tesoro has placed a 32bit ARM Cortex Processor with 512K of built-in memory (supports up to 5 gaming profiles) and has once again used Kailh blue/brown/black/red mechanical switches with gold plated contacts (60 million keystrokes) which feature full RGB color illumination (16.8m colors). The RGB backlighting feature includes 7 different illumination modes (trigger/ripple/fireworks/radiation/breathing/wave/spectrum), 4 different brightness levels and can also be used individually with any of the keys (or not at all). The Excalibur Spectrum Mechanical Gaming Keyboard also features 6-Key/N-Key Rollover, 1000Hz polling rate, 6 multimedia keys, double injection keycaps and instant macro recording.
