be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 850W Power Supply Review

This review is for the creme de la creme of the be quiet! Power supply series with an 80PLUS Platinum rating the Dark Power PRO 10 850 Watt PSU that is truly the best that the be quiet! company has to offer. It was commissioned to be made in the highly prestigious Seasonic power supply factory. One of the best power supply factories in the world. Other brands of the be quiet! line are commissioned by different fabricators and should not be compared with this product or this review as they are manufactured in other places and have a different sources and therefore may have different design tolerances and characteristics. This review is based solely on the be quiet! (BQT-P10-Unit) and they include the Dark Power Pro 10 series including the 1200 watt / 1000 watt and the 850 watt models that are all commissioned with the Seasonic manufacturing plant.

Civilization: Beyond Earth Gaming Performance Benchmarked

Civilization is without a doubt one of the most successful strategy games ever released and chances are you are anticipating the release of Civilization: Beyond Earth this week. Civilization: Beyond Earth reimagines the expansive franchise in a new sci-fi setting where you are part of an expedition sent to find a home beyond Earth. This means you get to explore and colonize an alien planets to create a new civilization in space. We were able to get early access to Civilization: Beyond Earth (Build 1.0.0.574) and figured that we can do a little AMD versus NVIDIA to see who has the best video card performance in this game title. We of course will be running both cards with DirectX 11 and then the AMD cards with the Mantle API. Read on to see who comes out on top!

Cooler Master Nepton 240M Liquid CPU Cooler

It has been noted that cooking and baking are really very different things, with cooking being far more open to nuance, and baking being far more of a formula and scientific. We have seen both approaches used by different manufacturers when they are cooking up new components, and both have distinct advantages. It would seem the scientific, formulaic approach would be of most benefit, but as we all know, what looks good on paper doesn’t always play out exactly as expected. In these cases, it may take a little tweaking based on a hunch and a taste test to get it just right.

COUGAR 700M Aluminum Gaming Mouse & Speed Mouse Pad

It would be hard for me not to buy one. Great features, customizable comfort, easy configuration, topped off with a price that beats most comparable products. In Win D-Frame Mini Review: A unique case for loose budgets

Of all the weird and wonderful cases we saw in 2013, In Win's D-Frame remains most memorable. The D-Frame Mini takes the original design and shrinks it down to accommodate the now popular Mini-ITX form factor. Despite the reduction in size the case can now support cooling radiators and models as large as 240mm, the graphics card length has been extended from 330mm to 340mm, and the chassis can rest on one of six sides rather than just two.

Intel Core i7 5820K Haswell-E (6-core) CPU Review

That brings us on to the six-core 5820K and its £300 asking price. Three ton is still a sizable amount of money to drop on a processor, but it does mark a price-point that is reachable for a wider enthusiast audience, as has been proven in many previous CPU generations. Interestingly, its £300 availability puts the Haswell-E 5820K £40 above the price tag of mid-range Haswell’s desktop flagship – the Devil’s Canyon 4790K. We investigate if that 15% cost increase buys the LGA2011-3 5820K a worthwhile performance benefit.

Lexar High Performance 32GB microSDHC UHS-I card (633x) Review

The mobile device market is constantly growing and we need better, faster and more reliable data media. The most popular standard for mobile devices is Secure Digital or its smaller version micro SD. When we think about SD cards then we usually have on our minds small but slow cards. To fill the performance gap, Lexar designed 633x micro SD cards that are compatible with the UHS-I standard so we can enjoy fast transfers even on these small SD cards.

Silverstone Fortress FT05

Just two months ago we were afforded the chance to take a look at Silverstone’s latest and greatest creation the RV05, better known as the Raven 5. As excited as we were to test out the latest Raven case, the fifth instalment didn’t offer the smoothest of rides, leaving us with mixed feelings.

On the positive side of things, the case looks great and it gave the best thermal results we’ve seen while generating little noise. There isn’t an issue with cost either. At $115 for the windowed version, the RV05 is cheaper than previous models, which were already priced in must-buy territory.

The 90-degree stacked design might offer unbeatable cooling performance but it also means working inside the RV05 was extremely cramped, not least because of all the space wasted in the top of the case.

Silverstone Grandia GD10 HTPC Chassis Review

The Silverstone Grandia series is one of the corner stones of the HTPC market; they’ve long been one of the most popular choices for AV enthusiasts who want a PC integrated into their entertainment setup. The Grandia series has always balanced premium build quality, great aesthetics, competitive prices and more; Silverstone look set to continue that trend with the new Grandia GD10 HTPC chassis.

The GD10 features many of the same style points and component capabilities of previous generation chassis from the Grandia series, which is no bad thing. The new model comes equipped with support for most major motherboard types, including SSI-CEB, ATX and Micro-ATX. As you can see from the specifications below, the GD10 comes with support for up to five hard drives, depending on their configuration. The chassis will also handle a range of 80 to 120mm fans; with three 120mm fans pre-installed. 12.2″ graphics cards are also supported, which opens up possibilities for many of the high-end cards that are currently on the market.

Windows 10 Hands-On: Beyond The Start Menu, What You Need To Know

It has been a few weeks since Microsoft released its Technical Preview of Windows 10 -- which means we've had enough time to walk around the vehicle, kick the tires, and investigate the product in its current form. After the drubbing that Windows 8 took in the tech press and from angry users, Microsoft badly needs this new operating system to be a success, but simply cramming the Start menu back into the OS isn't going to cut it.

Don't mistake us here. It's still important to evaluate Windows 10 as a work-in-progress but we're going to be more critical of the little things this time around. The good news is, there are significantly fewer issues to talk about.

So what has Microsoft been up to all this time beyond the Start menu's triumphant return? Let's take a look...
