Asus ZenBook UX305CA Review

Asus upgrades much more than just the processor in this Skylake refresh of one of 2015's best mid-range laptops. It's still not perfect but the new QHD+ display, Windows 10 OS and an even wider range of ports make for an highly tempting ultraportable.

Pros:
3200x1800 display, great battery life, enhanced performance, super-slim, good value,

Cons:
Small SSD, lots of bloatware, not ideal for the most demanding tasks

Cyberpower Infinity Luxe 805 GT System Review

Cyberpower has taken an interesting approach with its Infinity Luxe 805 GT gaming PC. On the one hand they have pushed the specification of the hardware with an overclocked 4.7GHz Core i7-6700K and GTX 980Ti graphics card while on the other they have also emphasised the look of the PC with an In-Win 805 case with Thermaltake Riing fans front and rear. (In the video I say Riing at the rear. In fact all three fans are illuminated Riing fans).

That’s a huge amount of hardware yet Cyberpower UK has managed to keep the price just below the psychological barrier of £2000.

How to set up Apt caching server on Ubuntu or Debian

If you often create guest VMs or containers on your Linux computer, you will go through package installation many times across different VMs/containers. In that case, your time may be better spent on something more productive than just waiting to finish installing packages.

Jabra ROX Wireless In-Ear Stereo Earbuds Review

Where i live it seems that people have just invented the "art" of running both at the gym and outdoors so i see more and more of them every day wearing wired and wireless earphones while running and of course while exercising. Now the ones who are really into running and exercising have actually invested quite a bit of time, effort and money in them so they always seem to use the most popular secure fit models by most of the leading manufacturers in this industry like SONY, Panasonic, Philips, Jabra and BlueAnt and since I’m always looking for a good pair myself i decided to check and see what's really selling in the market today. Well after visiting a few local stores i noticed the ROX Wireless earphones by Jabra and since i liked their design and quality quite a lot i emailed our friends over at Jabra who a few months back send over a pair for me to test.

Jabra is the brand of GN Netcom, a subsidiary of GN Store Nord A/S (GN) - listed on NASDAQ OMX. Jabra employs approximately 850 people worldwide and in 2011 produced an annual revenue which amounted to DKK 2,106 million. Jabra is a world leader in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of a broad range of hands-free communications solutions. With a reputation for innovation, reliability, and ease of use that goes back more than two decades, Jabra’s consumer and business divisions produce corded and wireless headsets, plus mobile and in-office speakerphones that empower individuals and businesses through increased freedom of movement, comfort, and functionality.

The ROX Wireless in-ear buds by Jabra feature Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity (support NFC, A2DP v1.2, hands free profile v1.6 and AVRCP v1.4), IP52 protection rating (dust and water resistant) and offer full stereo sound via two 6mm dynamic drivers (20Hz-20KHz frequency response with 92dB sensitivity and 16 Ohm impedance) connected together by a 55mm long cable. To complete the "package" Jabra has also made use of a MEMS (MicroElectrical-Mechanical System) microphone with a frequency range of 100Hz-8KHz 14dB sensitivity (+-3) and a lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack capable of powering the ROX Wireless for up to 5.5 hours. However we mostly care about how they look and sound so let's get a much closer look at the ROX Wireless in-ear stereo buds.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 710: Trying NVIDIA's Newest Sub-$50 GPU On Linux

At the end of January NVIDIA rolled out the GeForce GT 710. This isn't some shiny new low-end Maxwell card, but rather from the Kepler lineage and retails for under $50 USD as a discrete solution to compete with integrated Intel and AMD graphics. Here are some initial benchmarks of a passively-cooled ASUS GeForce GT 710 under Linux.

The GeForce GT 710 is a cut-down version of the Kepler GK208, the already low-end core used by the lines of the GT 720 and GT 730 graphics cards as well as the mobile GT 720M/730M/735M/740M graphics processors. This really isn't a graphics card for gamers or anyone needing any serious GPU performance but rather as an upgrade for an entry-level system, someone just wanting to upgrade from their integrated graphics, and other minimally-demanding use-cases.

The GT 710 has a reference clock speed of 954MHz, 1.8GHz video memory clock speed for its DDR3 on a 64-bit bus, 192 CUDA cores, 16 texture units, 8 ROPs, and has a 19 Watt TDP. In launching the GT 710, NVIDIA says this low-cost graphics card is up to ten times faster than many integrated graphics processors while being around 70% faster than the GeForce GT 610.
