Win2k + Via Busmastering?

Just installed my copy of Win2k Pro Final. (Won from a MS drawing). Now, I'm noticing that the when hard-drive or (especially) CD-ROM usage is high, the system becomes remarkably unresponsive. E. g. , it is impossible to navigate in an IE window while installing something off a CD.

UT runs fine for me on 2183 (yes I know I should update) But when I play net games it's unplayable. At first I thought it was my connection but I shut down to 98 and it was fine. The game is totally lagged.

Creative Launcher is evil! help needed

Upon finally getting creative launcher installed, when i run it, it make my sound all buggy, basically ive decided to scrap the SBLIVE LiveWare until good drivers come out. BUT I cant uninstall it because when i get to the uninstall screen and try to remove the program, it just freezes.

Transparency in Win2k

I noticed in some reviews that you could set certain windows to be transparent or see-through by using a third party program. Does anyone know a program that will do this?.

hello i once tried to update to win2k and all hardware but my network adapter (SMC EliteCard 16 ULTRA) was recognized. . and that one is very important offcourz! does anyone know there are some 3rd party drivers for this adapter.

Hello, im having problems with my Diamond Stealth III S540 AGP (Savage4 chip). All games that use 3D acceleration run extremelly SLOW, I tried to install the NT4 drivers but had no success. Does anyone have suggestions?.

Hollywood plus problems

Apologies if this has been beaten to death but I have a Real magic h+ card. After installing the drivers of the site, when I go to play a DVD it says a compatible decoder card has not been detected, a DVD drive is not enough blah blah.

I have never used diskeeper, but may do so depending on the responses I get on this thread. From what I know about Diskeeper, it defrags and a couple other small things. Well, if this is true, why use it? I can defrag my disks just fine (I think) using the build in defragmenting utility in Win2k.

New Banchee Drivers

For all of you tweak monkeys out there 3dfx has just released new drivers for the banchee v1. 04. 00 The drivers are for the 9x operation system but, if anyone plays with them enuf we might be able to get them working in win2k.

HP P2B-VT Motherboard help

I have an HP Pavilion 8595C. I have only limited features in the Bios, so I did some checking and found out it is an Asus board, but because its OEM its not listed on there web site. I ran PC Probe on it and it lists features available in the bios that I can't get to.
