Right after a long grewling 6 hours of messing with setting try the following; Uninstall Re-install but ensure destination directory is eight charictors or less. I used (c:\chaos) You must set Desktop resolution to 640x480,16 Bit colour,any refresh rate works up to 144 mhz Use gpedit.

In January I purchased a Systemax computer with an AMD Athalon processor, Windows XP Home, MS Office 2003 Professional. Since turning on the computer I have had constant problems with it freezing. Sometimes it evens reboots itself - the screen goes black and then it boots.

I wonder if you could help? We're got 5 users on networked PCs printing to a networked LJ 4100 with 6 trays (inc. Manual Feed tray (1) all printing from Word / Excel (XP) I've tried recording a macro going through each type of print (letterhead, copy, memo, etc.

when i login to xp, my pc start login (load my settings), but after automaticly (save my settings) and log off. !??? :-( a try to load last good configuration and safe mode, but go wrong. this happen after i install game (colin mcray) and in install process pc frozen.

For no apparent reason the scroll feature on my microsoft mouse quit working. I can scroll with the pointer and drag or use the up/down arrows but not with the mouse in wat Im trying to scroll. What gives???.

N00b here (b4 u guess!) I have been running win2k pro on my home PC (KT3 Ultra, Prophet 7500 128Mb, 256DDRAM, etc) with no problems, but 2 days ago my PC failed to shut down and went to the dreaded blue screen, which it then sat on all night.

How do I grant a user rights to log onto a Windows 2000 Terminal Server in remote admin mode. In XP there's a group policy item that allows it but I can't find such a policy in 2k. P. S. I would like to avoid adding them to the Admins group.

Does anyone else here play DVDs on NT4? I can't for the life of me find a compatible player, and the problem is overlays. I can get most players to install and run fine (even detect and play the dvd) but the screen is greyed out.

Hey, I have a 2000 server that keeps trying to go into standby for no reason. I checked the power options and it is set to ac power. It isnt actually going into standby because a service is preventing it but I would like to get this fixed.

Okay, here's the deal: I just got my system in, Athlon64 3000+ on a Chaintech nForce3 mobo (the one reviewed here). I installed my DVD burner on IDE1, and IDE0 is left empty. I have two SATA drives, Seagate 160GBers.

Hi, I have a small home network with one Server (w2KS) and 3 PCs that share files and printers. No issues there. The server has a SCSI HP Scanner attached to it. Is it possible to share it with the other PCs(W2K Pro) over the LAN? Kindly advise how.

This is one of my favorite strategy games of all time. Since getting a new computer with XP already installed I have not been able to get it to run. The game installs just fine, however when you try to run it it totally destroys the screen, and requires a reboot to get the screen back.

Hi: I have an older computer and I was wondering if I would be able to play any OpenGL-based 3D games on it. I know NT 3. x has basic OpenGL support. Does this help me any or am I pretty much out of luck? I'm thinking Quake specifically, but anything that would work would be great.

Every time I normally log on Windows XP, my computer freezes in about 6 minutes. How do I stop it from freezing? It started before I got the internet, and I don't use any disks, so I didn't think it was a virus, and it works fine in safe mode, so how do I fix it?.
