I work for a small company that runs a Windows 2003 on a Dell Power Edge 700 server, set up with Remote access. Is there any way that I can change the default, high-graphics splash/logon screen that comes up when you remote desktop into this server over a VPN connection? My boss is of the strong opinion that "time is money", and he wants to speed the loading of this screen. I would appreciate any input on this issue.

Go to Hkey_Users\.Default\Control Panel\Desktop and change the value of the Wallpaper key. You can just leave the entry blank and it won't load anything which sounds like what you're after.
