My mother in law asked me to come look at her dell, cause it was acting funny, It appears that when she logs in from the initial log in screen of her windows xp, she types her password and logs in, the question is why does the text not show up when she is typing in the password, no ******** or anything, just a blan ...

War Of The Worlds on W2000 Professional

I just tried to install the war of the worlds on my athlon 1800 with windows 2000 professional running. when i try to start the game after the installation nothing happens. its not like the other problems posted here, because the screen doesn't turn black or anything like that.

Alas more sims 2 problems

i just got sims to off of a p2p. After fallowing the directions that came with it and installing a few exrta dll's that it was missing, it comse back and says that the Entry point not found. The procedure entry point MakeCriticalSectionGlobal could not be located in the dynamic link libray KERNEL32.

hp psc 500 and win2k driver issues

if anyone has gotten the hp 3-in-1 psc 500 to work with windows 2000, i'd really appreciate your advice. i can get it to print, but not scan. it won't install the scanner driver, the new hardware wizard tells me: 'an error occurred during the installation of the device.

Sims 2 Entry point not found

I just got a copy of sims 2 off a p2p. After fallowing the instructions that came with it, and also going out and finding a few dll that were missing it still comes up with a Entry point not found. What i was wondering is if any one has found a work around or may some way to change the hex code so it works.

Ok so I was just wondering if any one else had this problem or knows how to fix it, my bios detects my cd-rom drives and so does windows but when a cd is inserted it does not detect a disk in the drive.

I think this must have been discussed by me (or some other person) before, so if it has forgive me, but I have something to get off my chest. I've just helped my dad upgrade his Quicken software to the latest version and it was a *painful* process.

I changed the administrator password and now none of scheduled tape backups are working on any of my servers. All was working prior to the password change. What am I missing??.

Office 2003 Error when closing.

I'm getting this error when I close Outlook 2003. The instructions at 0x05c8a9fe referenced memory at 0x61c2128. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program. I ran memtest, just incase, and all RAM is fine.

Well folks, there's another nasty BHO out there that's a pain to get rid of. . . . this one is Elite Toolbar. I've tried the usual suite of Ad Aware and BHO Cop to remove the little #$@%^%$ but it restores itself and registry setting upon every reboot.
