We have 2 computers, one with XP and the other with windows2000. I would like to network them, but haven't yet bought a router; I intend to eventually but want to make sure I can at least get started before spending much money.

Sims 2 Transfer file problem

I am having problems installing Sims 2. I put in Disk 1 with no problems and when I put in Disk 2 an error comes up: A problem has occurred when trying to transfer the file: TSData\Res\Sims3D\Objects09.

Using arial font i downloaded the Direct X 9. 0 thing and a cookie comes up and says Failed to find ant DirectX 9. 0c compatible graphics adapters in this system!Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.

Descent 2 (Divide by zero)

I'm trying to run Descent 2 on Windows XP, but every time I go to the automap, I'm getting a Divide by zero error. I've tried reinstalling, and I've tried the Windows patch, but I'm still getting the problem.

I have not solved the file transfer problem I wrote about earlier. When I put in Disk 1 it works, after I put in Disk 2 an error code comes up: A problem has occured when tryint to transfer the file: TSData\Res\Sims3D\Objects09.

I tried installing this Debian version on both my Intel system and AMD system and it didn't work on either one. Both died in the process of trying to install software acrossed the internet. Even the main release has issues with finding my Intel Pro network card.

Direct X 9.0c installs but then doesnt work

I am trying to install Direct X 9. 0c so i can play Sims 2 but what happens is that it installs in seconds and then say that is done it then says i can use it but when i check what version of direct x i have it tells me that it is still direct x 8.

DVD-R Compatibility with Other Systems

Hey everybody, my first time here. Got a DVD-R/W drive for Christmas. Works great. The problem is that none of what I put on these DVD-R disks can be read from any other computer in my house except the one where the drive is installed.

Ok, so I bought the Sims 2 and it requires DirectX 9. 0c. The installer says that DirectX 9. 0c is on the CD, but it won't download. A window pops up and tells me to download DirectX 9. 0c from Microsoft.

Hey Guys, I am doing an upgrade of our building and I am using M$ wonderful FASTWIZ tool to retain data. However, one of the files I need for a user is corrupted and it won't transfer. I am wondering if anyone has seen a program that will allow me to open the file and extract the contents from it.
