First off I'll apologize as I have posted this same question in Tips and tricks. . . . I have been having a hell of a time getting Win2k (2195) to run Quake III. In win98 it turned out to be a matter of using a reggy hack and forcing AGP1x.

I have been having a hell of a time getting Win2k (2195) to run Quake III. In win98 it turned out to be a matter of using a reggy hack and forcing AGP1x. Now I used the pre-made reg files off of MURC ( ) but they don't have any prepared for Win2k.

Ensoniq ES1371 problems

I have an Ensoniq ES1371 sound card, and I am trying to enable the microphone for it, but am having no luck. Win2k installs the card as a 1370, and when I change it to 1371, it says its ok, but it doesn't make any sounds, and the CPU maxes out.

MS6120 with 2 coppermines = hardware error in win2k?

Well, here is the situation, when i put my other p3 600/133mhz coppermine on the mobo my win2k gets ***** up! i get random hardware errors (blue screen). . . anyone knows why this happens? MDK 2 locks on leaving the game.

K, the game runs great on my PC at 1280X1024 while I am playing. The problem is when I try to quit the game and go back to the desktop my screen locks either black or grey with the music still going in the background.

Okay guys, i need to borrow your wisdom for a minute. I am going to upgrade my processor to an athlon 800 and i need to know what the best motherboard to use. It has to be very compatible with win2k and i really want the KX133 chip.

I spoke with Lexmark today about Win2k drivers for the 5700 and was told they aren't going to make any drivers for this printer because they could not get them to work. What a bunch of crap. Time to by an HP or Epson.

Shogo Freezes - wont run

I read that Shogo would run on win2000. . . but mine just freezes up after start screen. I have already updated all drivers. Have any of you had this problem?? Thanks! Benzine.

Shut down in Win2000

Wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix my PC so when I choose shutdown it actually turns the PC off for me. I have an Aopen AX63Pro and I just flashed it with the new bios. I also have an Abit BE6II and when I installed 2000 on that it shuts down for me.

Win2K drivers for Entrega and Xircon are OUT!

Xircon bought out Entrega, so if you have products from either company, head to Oddly, I could not successfully download the files from the web page (links not working yet), but ftp. xircon. com/pub/ has everything you'd need.

I know its supposed to be mid-may who thinks CL will actaully release this in mid-may so we can actually get some real 3d sound and a working surround mixer. .

Scsi card & KA7 owners beware.

If you're thinking of up to the lastest Bios for the ABit KA7 and you have a scsi card such as an Adaptec 2940UW or a 29160 then beware. I've just tried installing bios revision KA7_RX - and it seems to prevent these scsi cards from installing their bios successfully at bootup - result no scsi hard drive will boot.

It is finally over, irritating sticky keys in Windows 2000, for once I can dump Windows 98 in the bin and light the match, and come to the bliss of Windows 2000 Ok before you all say this is just another hack saying its fixed, its not.
