I have 2 box, one Win98 laptop, one W2k Professional desktop. I am sharing a cable modem connection on the 2000 box. If both machines are running and using the internet, and my 2000 box gets rebooted or crashes, the 98 box has to be rebooted to get to the internet again.

I have a DVD-drive in an IDE-USB case and want to connect it to a w2k machine but there only came win98 and DOS (?!?) drivers with it. Are there any generic IDE-to-USB drivers for w2k out there? TIA!.

I have a celeron 300a@ 464 running on a Abit BH6 Rev 1. 01 with latest bios, 192 megs of pc100 and a Matrox G400 32 meg agp. If i run the card in agp2x after a little while I will get lockups or screen corruption.

This isn't a big problem, but i'm curious about it. When i am logged in to windows 2000 and i leave the computer idle for a while the monitor goes blank like it should. If i ctrl+alt+del and lock the computer, the monitor will not blank no matter how long i leave it idle.

Using roadrunner cable modem through PCI network card. . . every time I reboot Win 2000 loses the TCP/IP settings and I can't connect. I then have to go into network settings and uninstall TCP/IP protocol and reboot.

Does anyone know if Windows 2000 will work with the VIA MVP3 Chipset? Because I get the problem where the VIA tech CPU is conflicting with the AGP controller. And when I go to update the drivers through the setup way, and by clicking on update driver on the VIA CPU tech, the conflict will go away.

Im still running Win2k pro on my main machine but am still testing WinME on a second machine. the Winme machine has 192 megs of sdram and after leaving winme final just running for like 5 hours I have 0% of physical ram left.
