Using roadrunner cable modem through PCI network card...every time I reboot Win 2000 loses the TCP/IP settings and I can't connect. I then have to go into network settings and uninstall TCP/IP protocol and reboot. I then have to reinstall TCP/IP and all's well. But it loses it again the next time I reboot. I have tried to reinstall TCP/IP from the Win 2000 CD, but can't seem to find the file or folder it looks for. Any suggestions? Or am I going to have to reinstall Win 2000? Thanks for any help...

Well, I had a similar problem, in which SP1 made my IP break down, so here's what I did (since nothing else worked). I dug out my CD, opened a command window, went to the \i386 directory, and typed "expand tcpip.sy_ c:\winnt\system32\drivers\tcpip.sys." You may only be able to do this in safe mode, depending on if the driver is already loaded, and it's not protected. Reboot, and you MIGHT be able to access the net again.

If anyone has a better solution, PLEASE let me know.
