A very odd problem

Well, I dont remember when it started happening. . but every 24 hours, on the 24 hour, 1 day uptime, my windows 2000 start bar dissapears, and then comes back. . as if explorer has crashed. . I have no icons and other stuff like that, and it is generally very irritating.

Hi All, I was wondering if any of you can tell which among the Audit Policies should be turned on to see Logoff events in the Security Log. I turned on the 'Audit Logon Events' and I can see the time that a user logs on.

More SCSI troubles. . . I got a new SCSI card , and decided to throw my old 1-2gig SCSI drives in for extra room. I have one hooked to the internal connector in my case, and two others are in an exterior SCSI case.

I cant select blocks in the 3d window in worldcraft in windows 2000. . . it worked fine in windows 98, but in windows 2000 I cant, I heard of this problem before, but it didn't apply to me at the time, because I wasn't using Win2k.

My Win 2K has a prob. at startup. It always hangs the first time I do a cold startup, and then i have to push the reset button to startup again. And then it works but it is very anoying to do this. It was OK in the beginning but sometime ago when I installed something (I can't remember what) I had to choose startup ...

I plan on having 2 computers hooked to 1 monitor. I plan on doing this this way: My PIII system has a WinTV GO. There is a VIDEO-IN(RCA) on it. My K6-2 system will (hopefully) have an ATI RAGE FURY video card, which has an S-Video, and I believe a Video-out(RCA)(if not, I have an S-Video to RCA video that will work).

I have a Creative Labs SoundBlaster 128 PCI, It's a ES1371/ES1373 model on it. In 9x versions such has Millennium, I have been able to install the drivers, then in the volume properities, been able to turn up bass and treble.

Well, I've finally had it with the ALi/TNT problem and will go get a new video card, wondering if anybody has any suggestions. Current system: AMD K6-2 450MHz Gigabyte GA-5AX Rev. 4. 1 (with ALi V chipset) PC100 128MB SDram Leadtek Winfast S320 16MB AGP2x (RivaTNT) 10.

Im trying to get grand prix 3 to work on my win2k system but all i get is graphics corruption on the screen in hardware 3d mode, any ideas guys? P3 500 128mb ram Voodoo5 5500AGP (1. 04. 00 drivers) win2k etc etc.

Ok I had this problem with win2k before dx8 final came out and now that I have installed that the problem still remains. When I run 3dmark2000 and goto the listing for the g450 it says that I have 48908k total video memory and 47372k total texture memory.

HI, The question. A friend of mine wants to buy a Sony Vaio Laptop running Win2k, but its configured to run FAT32 as per standard. He though is having also a new PC at work that will also be running Win2k but will be configured to NFTS.

I am using the adaptec ACI-7850 SCSI controler and the panasonic 7503b. I have remove the 7503b from my 98se system and placed it into my win2000 system. . Win2000 setup the scsi card, but it kept flashing the cdr busy light like 12 times.

Hey. . . Peice of crap. Everytime I try to run a dvd on win2k with my msi mobo ( via chipset) with 5. 1 sound w/ my creative dxr-3 decoder card my computer freezes. NOW everytime I run the proram I get a kernel error and a big fat memory dump.

HELP I just got a Duron system (KT7-RAID) and Direct3d performance is terrible. Its a real slideshow. I have a GeForceDDR, and have tried 6. 31, 6. 47 and 7. 17. (use dx8) Can this be some VIA driver issue? what VIA driver am I suppose to use.

My sound keeps breaking up in Win2k

I have a AMD400, 196RAM, Diamond TNT2 Ultra, and a Turtle Beach MontegoII Quadzilla soundcard. When I listen to mp3's or something and browse the web at the same time, when a page starts loading my sound starts breaking up really bad, i have to pause it, and hit Play again and then it's ok.

I got win2k installed with a sblive value. I got a boot disk booting into dos but no sound in games. If I used the sb 16 emulation driver would it work? And anyone know where to get these emulation drivers? I cant use the win98 sblive driver installer on win2k and the emulation drivers are included in that.

Win2k, how to allow users to install apps?

How can I allow users to install applications in Win 2000 pro? Anything that requires registry editing will be blocked except for admins. I am using Nt4. 0 domain controlers, with Win 2000 workstations.
