I couldn't last without Win2000

Well I have WinME fully loaded and all my apps running. Its clunky and doesn't multi-task worth beans. So then it dawned on me! Why not dual boot, wow, loaded a clean install on Win2000 and loaded all the apps for the DLLs and away I went and all is good now! Ned.

I'm looking at playing around with a Dual CPU system in NT4. . . and am not looking to spend much money. Anyone know of any AT motherboards that support dual PIIs for relatively cheap? (ATX won't work in this case) My PC is warm.

Which GeForce2 GTS is the best?

i was wondering if anybody could recommend what the best GeForce2 GTS card is? i am torn between the Leadtek Winfast GTS 32mb DDR and the ASUS v7700 GTS 32mb DDR, although these don't have to be what i end up getting.

Hey m8s, I just installed Whistler 2410 a second time (screwed up the installation the 1st time). About half through the installation progress I could not use my keyboard anymore. I tried a different one and this one worked.

DSL / Router questions....

I have cable right now, and I'm getting sick of it. I'm thinking of moving to dsl, but I'm a little confused on a few things. One package the dsl company offers allows you 4 IPs for your dsl modem. I was also thinking of getting a router so I wouldn't have to keep one machine on all the time.

just saw the news, new detonator 6. XX drivers are out, and there are also detonator 7. XX drivers out there, i run the 7. XX drivers coz i did heard they are more DX8 compatible. But what is your expirience with the 6 against 7 drivers? which one run faster for you? //Silent.

Bit of a crap game but still : Need to get it working, and i'm having less luck then a blindfolded pool player. It wont install straight off the CD, and it wont install using the APCompat util, as it says something about being not Win32s compatible.

doh!! none of my timedemos work now, I havent updated it since the initial release I wonder how much my performance will jump. please tell me what the console command is I can not do the demos via the on screen menu system.

Weird problem with win2k & Half-Life

I installed Windows 2000 professional to my computer using NTFS. I play very much Half-Life MODs like TFC and CS. Now, the game itself works fine. But during the game or when I close the game, it disconnects my ISDN connection! Weird? My ISDN card is Terton 128 PCI and I installed the newest win2k drivers for it.

OK, I know what BNC is, but what is AUI?Everything I've found talks about BNC vs. UTP, not AUI. The reason I ask is this: I am setting up a network between two computers , and the hub I have is an old generic 8-port with a switch on the back that goes between BNC and AUI.

PC 133 on PC 100 motherboard?

Does anybody know if it is possible to use PC 133 RAM on an mboard supporting only PC 100? Maybe in that case the RAM just't wouldn't run at its full potential, w/o any incompatibility issues? Thanks!

Thief gold & Install problem

Can't install Thief gold on win2k pro. Get the error message that the game is not NT compatible. Tried with apcompat but that doesn't help. Config. Win2k pro SP1 Oct compat update 500 MHZ 256 MB Sdram 20 gb IBM 3dfx Vodoo 3 Everywhere I look I find that the game should work under win2k.
