This is a discussion about Whats the deal here? in the Windows Software category; just saw the news, new detonator 6. XX drivers are out, and there are also detonator 7. XX drivers out there, i run the 7. XX drivers coz i did heard they are more DX8 compatible. But what is your expirience with the 6 against 7 drivers? which one run faster for you? //Silent.

Always run game at same res/bitrate as desktop otherwise you will experience memory leaks and EXTREME slowdowns. You will also experience memory leaks in some cases anyways.
7.10 are the best to use out of the 7.x drivers.
6.34 drivers best to use out of 6.xx. Most stable drivers.
7.xx drivers are very fast in D3D. when from 1400 3dmark to 2830 3dmarks. 6.34 to 7.10.

Thanks DosFreak. I have found similar performance from them. I actually DECREASED in Q3A framerate going from 6.34 to 7.x and had some weird video issues with the 7.x drivers. Namely, when looking through the teleporter at the Quad or Plasma gun on a couple of the levels, I would only see the models, and no textures.
